When i first started on this server I knew pretty much nothing about it. Last I played maple was on GMS Windia just about the time HP washing was being invented. I remember everyone freaking out about it. (I was in 1337 if theres any Windia peeps here, remember Travinix? Natalie I'm looking for you!). I read in the warrior guides that HP washing isnt really necessary for warriors and I was impatient and wanted to dive into the game, so I pretty much ignored it. So literally all ive done that has anything to do with washing is i made a +9int cape around lvl50 and used it unreliably (and i just realized that your INT only counts in multiples of 10 F7)... and i got a Zhelm i guess. Now as I'm approaching 4th job, and ive reached as far as i ever got in GMS, (and I got 1 hit KOed by bigfoot and blackcrow) my mindset is starting to shift. I wanna be able to boss with the big boys and girls asap. SO. I have read all the guides and discussions on washing I could find and I THINK i got the gist of it until we start getting into all the formulas and spreadsheets. But what I'm struggling with is what does it all mean specifically for a 111 White Knight who has done next to nothing to prepare for washing? 1. Is it too late for me to wash? At this point is it possible reach a reasonable HP so I can do most bosses at a reasonable level? 2. What exactly should I be doing if I want to wash now? Is it too late to pony up for some int equips? 3. I read that fresh AP gives more HP. Do I need to stop lvling until I save up enough NX for 5 APRs per level? If so, should I stop lvling now or stop lvling at 120? 4. I also have DEX which I was planning on gradually resetting into STR down the road. How does that play into all this? My stats are as follows (when wearing my INT cape): LVL 111 White Knight HP 8108 MP 922 STR 563 (522+35) DEX 94 (50+44) INT 29(4+25) ATT 1835~3301 ACC 140 In the bank i got 186m that i could prolly stretch to 200-250m if I sold everything I'm hoarding; and only 8k NX at the moment. (I waste most of my NX on owls, trying to figure out FM prices for both buying and selling F7) Thanks for tolerating my rambling and thank you so much for any and all input!
You have two options to pick from here. Start washing now and have a slightly tougher time of it, or start the character new. If you choose to start new, just add to INT every few levels until you have around 100 base and buy some INT equips to wear while leveling. If you choose to continue your current character, you will want to invest in really good INT equips (they can be resold later for not much loss), and start putting all your level up AP into INT. Do the HP washing quest. It's time consuming but you can do some other quests while you collect the items for it. Start saving ALL of your NX for APRs. I didn't start adding INT on my Hero until late 70s and went up to about 90 base INT. I'm now level 156 and should hit 30k base HP next level.
Thanks for the input Muff! Do you know about how much INT i can get from equips with 250m? Is that enough money for a reasonable amount of INT?
1. not too late at all, and tbh, not even necessary 2. just wear the best int equips you can afford. with 250m, you can easily get +50int. 3. no that only applies to thieves 4. dex and str do not affect hp/mp values minimum mp for paladins is (4 x level ) + 56. every level up increases hp by 50-54 and mp by 4-6. every 10 int gives +1 mp upon level up. so if you have 4 base int + 46 int equips = 50 int, upon level up you will get 9-11 mp. 4th job advancement gives 1800-1850 hp. hp quest gives 1000 hp. with this information, you can calculate your hp/mp at any level. hp you might need not taking into account that you will have achilles (-15% dmg): ~18k for accidental horntail head b touch ~19k for auf haven touch ~15.6k for toad ~27k for bodyguard a ~18k for anego slap ask yourself: at what level would you like to kill these bosses? using that level, you can calculate your hp/mp values and then see how many washes it will take to reach that hp. having 30k hp is great and all but all it's gonna do is save you on potion costs lol so in conclusion, 19k hp is enough to get by and in order to achieve this, you don't need to even wear int equips (assuming the hp/mp values you provided are base hp/mp values). you will already have the excess mp required to hp wash to 19k hp at like lvl 180.
oops, my calculations were made off of +56 so you may need to wear int to cover that 200mp difference. (50 levels of 40int gear would cover this.)

This is the kind of wisdom I need to hear! ~So please confirm, as a warrior, it makes no difference whether I use fresh AP or a APR? ~I see people saying how 30k HP is overkill, but bodyguard A does 27k touch? I'm a warrior, how do I kill a moving target without touching it? ~"what level do i want to kill these bosses" i actually have no clue. I want to be able to boss at a "normal" lvl, but I don't even know what that is. I just know id prefer not to end up watching ppl boss while im +10 lvls than the people bossing ~What should I buy for INT with my 250m? I've seen a guide say i can get 30int on a very low budget with 100% scrolls and such, another guide say you can spend billions and billions for +150int. Do you know *roughly* what i should look for to spread 250m? (i TRIED finding a thread that had a nifty guide on making thrifty INT eqs, but i cant fucking find it again) ~am I good with just usin int equips and -mp +str? or do i need to pump int with level up APs also? well, u dont hv to do every boss but i believe hb is an option for bga. most other bosses, u can do without washing at all if im not mistaken personally i go for ~20k hp just so tat i can put my hp alerts at 50% for pap
Thanks for your input @Tect! I see a lot of people say that, but the missing info is: at what level? When people say "sure you can kill boss X without washing" do they mean I have to wait till im 50 levels higher than most people who are doing it?
if im not remembering it wrong, i had enuf hp on my pally for up to shao by 145? or at least im sure i had enuf at like 15x. u definitely hv enuf for ht at 155, as for being sed, thats a different story. for toad, u shld hv enuf my pally got washed up at 16x so im not too sure abt the hp amt at 175. as for anego, u will definitely need to be really high lvl to hv enuf natural hp to tank slap. bga, u willl nid hb lol. but basically, for most bosses u dun nid to worry abt being super high lvl. its only the few that require past 16k tat u will rly nid to look out for
correct for bgA, you will just need to have hb. on every bg run i've ever been on, someone in the party brought/needed hb a good level to attempt any boss is at least 5 levels under the boss's level in order to receive party leech exp rather than proportional damage exp. 155+ for ht, 9.8k hp if you don't touch the head, 18k if you do 175+ for toad, 15.6k hp 145+ for shao, 12k hp 125+ for anego, 18k hp (warriors don't really do anego) 175+ for auf haven, 19k hp (remember, you will have -15% achilles so these hp values should be even less) as you can see, 19k by lvl 175 is a great goal to aim for and is perfectly obtainable by just wearing int equips from here on out 7 int wooden wand = 20m 14 int crimsonheart cloak = 50m 15 int zakum helmet = 50m 3 int chaos speigelman necklace = 20m (or do the quest for 5 int deputy star) 14 int bathrobe = 75m 5 int single earring = 40m 3-5 int badly scrolled/clean red marker = 50m 1-2 int squishy shoes from kpq you are fine with just wearing int equips upon level up. no need for base int. put all your ap into str for now. when it's time to wash, you just -mp +str (need to apply 1 level up ap into hp first before you can start to -mp).
I recently opened page as well... i have limited funds, and i want to wash as little as possible (and party up for HB) I'm at level 49, with 2825 HP \\ 450 MP i have: 10 base int 6 int earring 6 int cape 2 int squishy shoes 7 int wooden wand Total: 31 int should i buy more stuff? i think that 18K hp will do (but i don't really know... i prefer to play as 'normal' as possible, but i want to be able to boss at late game)
try to buy a zakum helmet at lvl 50 and you're pretty golden. 40 int is more than enough to get to 20k hp at lvl 180. 60 int would get you to 30k hp at lvl 200 (assuming you wear int gear every single level up until 200)
I'm a OCD type of person. I want to be wearing the most INT possible even on mages (I even prioritize YAC over Purple GC). I'd get the following items, in order: - Zhelm as a level 50 is a must. - 15+ INT Robe. - Spiegelmann's necklace (1-2 Int) - I'd gacha (at 50) at showa or sleepy (please correct me if I'm wrong) for a leaf (4-7). Rewards are decent too. - Get your job adv medals for that 1-2 stat boost. - Switch to a crimsomheart cloak or yac if you can. That's 31+15 (zhelm) + 15 (robe) = 61. With a leaf/other upgrades you can get 70, which is good enough.
