Heya peepz My next chat will be a dk/hero or nightlord. I had a nightlord on EMS so i know about that class. I Dont know much about the differences between dk and hero tho. (Bossing, speed, leveling, leeching, money making, questing,...) Tell me all the pro's and con's of those 2 classes. Thanks Coryn
The speed of both classes is the same. You'll have to rely on a Silver Mane to navigate yourself most of the time. Both are great for bossing. Heroes can tank hits and deal one of the best DPS in game. Dragon Knights have access to Hyper Body and do not require much washing to obtain the maximum HP in the game. Both classes are good at leeching at Bigfoot, but if you're looking for a leeching character, you're better off making a Bishop because Bigfoots are always taken. Dragon Knights are better at money making because of Dragon Roar, but for melee classes, your main source of income is bossing.
Drk has a party skill, hyperbody. Where as hero has rage, which no one wants since att pots are better. Hero has more def and more dmg. Drk has a unique play style to keep their hp lower to zerk and have flashy skills.
Hero = easy mode, good dps, no party skills. Drk = harder to play, ok dps, pro party skill. Both are similar enough in first to third job.
Just wanted to point out @Plenty hp washing a drk is needed to zerk at bosses like zak/ht. most wash to 18750 clean so with hb they get 30k, and can zerk more safely.
Not Sure what zerk means. Thanks for the info tho . Keep the info coming. The more i know the better.
It's been a while since I ran these numbers, so forgive me if I'm wrong, but to have 18750 HP by level 150 I believe you'll need to level with about 60 int, which should be pretty doable for most anyone.
Yeah I never said it was impossible or really hard, but HP washing in any amount still costs a good amount of money since AP resets are expensive
Wasn't implying that you had, just thought it might be useful info for anyone looking to make a dk. Ap reset price pales in comparison to the cost of sky skiis.
THIS IS STRICTLY DPS TALK If you consider everything as equal, Dark Knights lose out on DPS by a good amount. Heroes have Advanced Combo Attack which gives a 2.5x multiplier to their attack and along with Brandish (2.6x times 2), they are one of the most useful DPS classes in the game because Brandish can also hit up to 3 targets. This is very useful at Zakum Arms and Horntail Legs and Tail where there are more than one target thus if you put that in consideration, Heroes stand to have the best DPS in the game. Along with great multipliers, they also have amazing attacking speed. Most end game weapons are Fast (5) and combine that with Brandish's already fast striking speed, you'll be dishing out damage very quickly. Dark Knights also have a multiplier in the form of Berserk. Since we're considering everything as equal, the multiplier for maxed Berserk is 2.0x and coupled with Dragon Crusher (1.7x times 3), you're looking at 10.2x damage range per strike. Problem is, their best weapon (Sky Skis) has a miserable speed of Normal (6) which really hinders their DPS. It also doesn't help that Dragon Crusher is a much slower skill than Brandish, clocking in at 0.93 seconds per strike (Normal speed plus Booster). Compare that to Brandish's 0.69 seconds per strike plus great multipliers and you can see why Dark Knights fall very short in the DPS charts. Assuming each attack is 4,000 average: Hero with Brandish: (2.5) x (2.6) x (2) = 13x Damage Range per 0.69 (0.63 with Speed Infusion) seconds i.e. 75362 (82539) Damage per second Dark Knights with Berserk and Dragon Crusher: (1.7) x (3) x (2) = 10.2 Damage Range per 0.93 (0.87 with Speed Infusion) seconds 43870 (46896) Damage per second @Sybe I remember you comparing DPS with a fellow Dark Knight before and the numbers you got are around the same as these calculations. If you can, please confirm these numbers.
@Plenty not seeing anything there to factor in that DK's will get 5 for a weapon constant and 1h heroes get a 4, 2h get a 4.6. With all the hype about stonetooth getting a better multiplier, you would think that would be a hype point in the DK's favor that they use apples/heartstoppers more effectively than heroes do. Of course that doesn't make up for the dmg difference, but it does make it closer.
Add another 1000 to the base for Dark Knights and it'll be around 54.8k. Big difference in DPS, but not quite enough. You might even have to take out more because those 3 hits are being affected by weapon defense rather than just 2 from Brandish.
@Plenty you misscalced how combo attack works. It doesn't simply add a x2.2 multiplier. Combo attack is 220% wep attack(which is a lot lower than 220% dmg) On 4th job aca increases overall dmg +30%
