I may be in the minority of players not dedicated enough to grind to lv 120 for 4th job. So I wanted to ask you all, which class do you consider to be the best 3rd job class? Which is the strongest? Which is the most flashy/fun? Me personally, I love Dragon Knights for the fun factor! Spear crusher alone is IMO the flashiest 3rd job skill among all classes. I'm not sure which is the strongest though.
Before I knew much about Dragon Knights I thought all their 3rd job skills were their 4th job skills.. so that's something. You're right about that, they have to be by far the flashiest 3rd job. Personally I found the most fun 3rd job class to be Fire/Poison, it doesn't have flashy skills or anything but they do have poison breath/mist, allowing them to train at monsters 20+ levels above them without too much difficulty. They have to take the cake for fastest training ever, I must've been leveling up 2-3 times an hour in the 90's just farming at petrifighters. Getting to 4th job is trivial as these guys Since 3rd job mostly consists of pure grinding, I prefer a class that would get you out of there as fast as possible
chief bandits are fun if you like torture. you can literally grind from lvl 70-200 at bigfoot with meso explosion..
Hm, I'd say Strongest: Chief Bandit Fastest: Chief Bandit and Fire/Poison Mage Most flashy/fun: DK. Also perhaps BM/MM - they have a lot of useful 3rd job skills. Squishy though. Most painful: I/L Mage, Priest I've not played chief bandit, crusader, white knight, f/p or marauder though!
Idk about strongest but i love all thieves and bowmans. I'm myself a bandit and i do really sick damage 1vs1. 3rd job you can be best bosser even solo and you can AoE grind too with unique skill. Rangers and crossbowmen are really flashy, cool and strong.
Hmm from the chars I played (ranger, priest, fp mage, hermit, marauder, dragon knight and white knight) I'd say: F/P mage is the strongest one, it was actually the only char where you could get faster exp by grinding than by buying leech (though at 105+ leech is better than mist training). You can start misting at around 75+ or so at ulu 2 and later move to stronger places like skele/petri (they are a bit difficult though, high pot cost and you'd die a few times) Ranger is the most fun, you got a lot of interesting and unique skills like strafe, arrow rain, inferno, puppet, hawk etc. Unfortunately you need to wash archers to be able to tank some bosses later on so most people don't really play them at 3rd job. Priest is the weakest/most boring, you can only really leech with HS or try do himes and aside from that your damage is really weak.
Lol fire poison mage is not strong at all, it's just the boring mist skill that does some kind of damage. Priest is actually way more fun that f/p mage during 3rd job. And yes i agree, rangers are one of the most fun classes but chill with that HP wash xD when i played maplestory back in 2007 none of my friends or strangers i met actually HP washed. They just leveled high enough to boss and brought their dragon knights for HB. Simple as that.
I think he meant strong as in it levels faster than the others. Idk 'bout priest I think warriors are cool 3rd jobbers. DK and WK. As for thieves, definitely bandit. Meso Explosion would surely make it great but I believe there's a learning curve or some methods you gotta learn to do it efficiently (if that matters to you). I personally love IL and FP mages. 2nd job IL and FP are fun as hell to me. 3rd job I'd say FP is way better lol. I like bowmen but due to the heavy investment required for them, I've never tried playing one.
I'm surprised that nobody is vouching for hermits here! Jumping around and throwing a bajillion stars sounds great. Too bad about the HP washing business though.
Sniper by far the most enjoyable class for me. You get so many fun skills (hawk, freezing arrow, eruption, strafe and puppet)and you actually use them all, which is very fun
After i i tried almost every 3rd job in game for me it is white knight. Wk are just job 1 warrior (i love job 1) with elements (and some extra skills). Strogest No, the most fun , for me yes.
Bumping an old thread, but just want to say: how has nobody said Marauder?! Mine has 100 base int, and yet I have still been absolutely amazed by its power. I also agree on Ranger. It does amazing damage in third job (if not using base int), only to fall behind everybody else in foruth job. As for worst, possibly outlaw?
Agreed with Dragon Knight for 3rd job. There's a reason why top DK players (Tiger, Fangblade) were the kings back in old school GMS. DKs get three(!) flashy new attacking skills (including a full map attack), can use both spears and polearms (both of which have better reach than other melee weapons) and to top it off also have HB. Using Fury + Purple Surfboard at Himes/Ulu is also a very fun and quick way to grind. There are notable tradeoffs once you hit 4th job, but for those who enjoy the 3rd job leveling experience I find DKs to be near the top. Crusaders I found immensely boring in comparison as they're stuck with Slash Blast until 4th job. For pure leveling speed, Chief Bandits seem to be the fastest followed by FP mages. Ranger/Hermit I also found to be fun until around lvl 90, where I lost motivation after I ended up with around 3k hp unwashed and found myself getting 2-hit by Himes. I/L mages have a strong 2nd job but get passed up by FP mages after third job. Priests have high utility with HS/Door but solo grinding is limited as Shining Ray has inferior range and casting speed (w/o booster) relative to other mages and therefore rely on partying/leeching to level efficiently. Himes duo with a DK/CB is a quick and fun way to grind to 4th job however, without having to resort to afking on a rope and leeching your way to 4th job.
