It doesn't make sense to me that Bigfoots should be killed when there's a server restart at 12:xx uptime, as there was today. At 12+ hours, we're now closer to BF coming up than we are to the last time they were killed, instead of the time between Bigfoots being killed being ~12 hours, it's now ~32 hours (the 12 it was on + the 20 it will take for the majority of Bigfoots to respawn). Were there no restart the vast majority would come up by about 20 hours. Could some system be put in place where they are killed if it's within a certain set uptime? This way it'd be much easier for people to know whether Bigfoots will be killed or not and also for GMs, as they won't have to make any judgement calls. e.g. If the uptime is less than 10 hours (sample number), BF should be killed. (as it's closer to the last respawn than the next respawn.) If uptime is greater than 10, they would be left up. Let me know what you guys think and what sort of a timeframe you would be reasonable to leave them up, or whether they should be all killed every restart!
I was a bit upset hearing that they were getting killed just a few before they'd start to spawn back as well. Nothing against whoever made the call though. Support :3 ~ 10 hours seems like a decent amount of time, especially since not everyone nolifes the game so a new group of people might be online by then anyway.
I think it would be better to make boss spawns unrelated to a server restart, your beloved bosses will then spawn exactly at their given spawn times no mather what. Obviously this should mean there are no bosses with a 24 hour'ish spawn time so the spawns cycle through all timezones at a regular basis.
Can this actually be executed? I have no clue, but you should, Gi... If so, I think this is the best possible option and to be honest, there's not much to be brought in against it.
Neither do I, but there have been complaints about server restarts influencing boss timers before when the server was being reset frequently. Anyways, that's not important now; I think this would be the best solution... Right? If there's better alternatives, then I'd be genuinely surprised.
I had never even considered that this was possible. I just assumed things were done the way they were because there was no alternative. I think this would be BY FAR the better option for boss respawns. It wouldn't be the most effective for power levelling, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
I wouldn't suggest impossible things, and actually this is rather easy. In general a lot is possible within the given restrictions by the client (i.e. edit the Cashshop items, but not it's currency), however when you're not bound to the client but only to the source nearly everything is possible (like this case). The only reason a system like this is useful, is because of the server's stability, maybe it was better in the past.
Make. It. Happen. The endless times I've wasted time, money AND energy (speed bombing BFs is kind of exhausting) getting a BF to 300k HP and then the server taking a poop, is now an issue for me with the new taxes in shops. My questions is, if you prekill a BF and the server has to restart before it's killed off, what happens to the exp if you say have a leecher, and parties gets reset? Or will it respawn with full HP again?
