Another server, I won't say which one, introduced a one person limit (one client) in boss runs. Currently the game feels inclusive towards those who have multiple mules. Muling in boss runs gives priority to those who have TL,SI,SE, crash, BS, etc. mules over those who don't. Bringing mule characters currently isn't a requirement for doing CWKPQ, krexel, horntail, etc but it seems like this has been the norm for some time. Royals doesn't have an FM button so it wouldn't centralize a one-click warp area for buff mules (SI,SE,HS) while grinding so why does this exist for raids. People who dedicate their time towards their favorite classes would have more importance than just being buff mules. The meta game for boss runs shouldn't be mandatory for people to multi client crash/buff mules. What are your thoughts on something like this being implemented in Royals? Will/has this become a problem or is this not a problem at all?
I don't think this is very good because after all the most common/essential mule is HS. You need HS in almost every boss (aside from low exp ones) if you want to get good exp, making it pretty much mandatory to have. The DPS of bishops in 1vs1 is extremely low, so in stuff like krex or shaolin the bishop is pretty much useless except for HS (and res if you die I guess) and just sits there afk doing nothing. Why would you have to smega and wait for a bishop who does nothing and takes your ring/nx/exp when you got a bishop mule yourself? In addition I got a bishop myself and there isn't that much reason to join stuff like krex or toad (unless you are desperate for a ring I guess) not as a mule when you'd get better exp/mesos just doing leech. If you made a limit on mules to just 1 char then you'd see everyone R>hs all day while most bishops wouldn't bother joining, forcing people to either go with no HS, solo bosses (more efficient exp if no HS) or to stop doing these bosses at all.
I think this idea is beneficial for the server in long run. I have HS/HB/SE/SI/Sed mules but I wouldn't mind the change for more interactive gameplay. People won't stop bossing. They'll complain and whine for a while like after every nerf or unfavorable change (AM buff reversion, pot price jump etc.) but they will adapt and move on eventually. The concern lies with VMware or multiple PCs. People will find ways to bypass the limit like some already do at RR event.
Maybe create a poll, in order the gauge the community's response is. Another issue that I think that needs to be brought up, if this change is implemented, the issue of having smaller bossing parties (Duo, Trio, Quad) will still be there. Since having a smaller and less inclusive party, also means the same reward and experience will be split with a smaller group of people. I pretty sure, some of us who organised boss runs, prefer classes or characters who we deemed are stronger than choosing to invite more players into the party. Or experienced rejection because we choose certain classes (Paladins, Marksman, Shadowers and Arch Mages etc) We could make bosses drop unique and one of a kind tokens, that can be picked once per player just like the golden Maple Leaf event. Those tokens could be used to redeem rewards. And experience gain has to be tailored too, that a trio party will not gain more 5% of experience compare to full a proper 6 person party or more than a single party team. So it makes sense to have as many people to go for expeditions than a smaller group. Maybe one of the rewards can be a rewarp ticket to a boss that you disconnected from.
yea another multiclient issue (it's sad to see that also events are being abused by mules like RR,coconut and all other RNG events for more chance/rewards) Bishop shouldn't be a HS mule or leech slave (i main bishop mostly i know it's not just bishop that is faceing this issue) it's also sad to see that most see it as NLstory ( NL + mule-clients) and don't give chance to other class
I don’t support this idea as I think players who bring mules in addition to their attackers are just more committed to the game, and like to run with 1-2 more to avoid the troubles of big party (afkers, looters dc etc). Having a couple of mules in addition to your attacker isn’t something that is exclusive to some players, it is available for everyone, there’s no ‘closed society’ of attackers with mules It’s just a bunch of people looking to maximize run profits. Also let me assure u that very few players go solo Zakum/Krexel/shao or whatever with just 1 attacker and a bunch of mules as this will take a long time. Another point is, most players have supporting chars or chars that they quitted before and now utilize them for skills (I used to main marksman and reached 16x then quitted and made a nl, now this mm is se mule), u can see it often with bishops
The people who oppose it, have stated greedy reasons. The people who want it, haven’t put as much time or dedication into the game. I personally think that only 1 mule should be allowed. Makes the community market better. Allows more people to boss( learn from professionals, who otherwise would never boss with noobies.)
but i want to do the legendary 6x attacker client run at zak that was buried somewhere in the accomplishment thread
I think people are used to this server being very easy. every slight inconvenience or limitation would make a lot of players angry and is seen as oppressive, so this is generally a bad idea.
I personally like the idea, and I know for a fact the server will adapt to it and, like it was previously stated, I see this being healthy for the server in the long run. Let's get a poll going?
I can add one for you, let me know what title and options you want! And if you want it to be public on who votes for what
Oh ok thanks maybe options for: 1. Limiting multi-clienting in boss runs is a good idea 2. You should be allowed to bring as many mules as you want >And if you want it to be public on who votes for what. Yes
Is it even feasible to implement this? There seems to be way too many workarounds that people will abuse.
Will 2 Royalers (or more) from the same household be able to boss together or will it be like the voting. Or will it be only solo stuff?
It should be a banable offense, that way even if they do abuse it they will get banned(ON all accounts) As you know there is a system approve two votes per house a day, I think that once people get approved it should also allow them to play together in boss runs. But If the person that got approved abuses this system to get his mules in the run he should get banned for doing so. This is a great suggestion which will let us newer players have a greater chance to join boss runs with better players.
All the GM hosted events, RR/Olaola/Fitness etc. limit the entry of extra characters from the same device (with same MAC address). I believe it won't be difficult to implement the same system to bossing squads. If bypassing this becomes a bannable offense, it can actually work since no legit player would risk their hard-earned progress for little convenience during bossing. Staff should be able to trace who bypassed it by viewing the entry log of related accounts from a single player.
