Hello, anyone knows the recommended range for Shaolin Boss? Especially for Melee (Shadower) Class, ty! Would like to know the range recommended to Duo/ Trio
Been duo’ing Shao as a shad since 153 with about 5.5-5.6k range killing clones and boss (apple every time) Rough idea with what to do from past experience with other particular classes: (All partners 15x-160x have apples as well) NL’s 15x 4.3k range combo + bomb 6k bags for 4-5mins si 15x similar with NL need to bomb 6k bags for 3-4mins) (I’d assume SE will be similar to both above) hero 15x w/ decent range shouldn’t need to bomb so essentially any class that you partner w/ that’s a single target you should bomb unless theyre extremely strong for lvl 150’s or 170+
Buccs have easier time than heroes at Shao since they have better single target and don’t get blocked by clones.

Yes, but buccs will do more damage to the shao boss because their single target dps is better. I just wanted to clarify that single target melee classes don't run into the same problem as single target range classes, which seems to be incorrectly implied in the reply I quoted above.
XD true, and I guess NLs have ninja storm and archers have dragon breath to separate the clones EDIT: Archers should use pkb instead as peeps pointed out below (I don't play archer )
I'm a 16x BM and I duo Shao with a 19x NL often and pin the boss to the left. We take a BS mule with us. Once the clones spawn, I stop attacking and my partner lures the clones away to the right with his BS. We only ever kill the boss, and leave the clones with the BS. It works really well for us . I have a single point in Dragon's Breath for funsies, but imo, there are better ways to use AP (and I suspect a lot of 4th job archers don't actually have DB!).
u can use pkb to push the boss << at the start and use it to push the clones >> its much faster than db
a little tip for archers at shao: dragon's breath will only hard-push mobs, not the boss, whereas power knockback can push both mobs and the boss. you can use this strategically whenever you mess up. also marksmen can summon frostprey to passively freeze the mobs in place after you pushed them behind you <<.
