Solved [Solution Given] [Experimental] HT Crash Test Fix

Gave it a try and I did not DC even with a Nvidia gpu, that's a +1 for now!

Edit: 3 runs in, managed to complete all with no dcing. Oddly enough, one had that sure sign of DC right before the main body summoned whereby there would be a freeze frame and the bgm would not change to main body music but remains as the prehead one.

 

3/3 successful ht runs while actively feeding my pet with this fix since I’m using a Nvidia gpu which crashes randomly and especially when I feed my robo pet.

Not sure about sounds and bgm like sena ^ because I like to mute my maple sounds. But after every ht when I click the crystal to go out the long 5-10 seconds black loading screen is still there but it’s not really a problem since I can always just reclient after ht.

Edit: 4/5 ht success.
4th run i crashed with no error just like before replacing this soundwz file. funny thing my mule didn't crash, just my NL.

5th run i encountered gfx issue. after gfxing mid run, I was able to complete the run without crashing. however, my ht was missing 1 head the whole run after the gfx bug



Edit 1: An update after a long time. I actually did a lot more HT on my normal client after the above ss. I’ve crashed on multiple instances, whether it’s my main NL attacker or my mules. I have since gone back to VMware because this fix isn’t reliable for me with the random crashes.

 

i've done 5 HT runs after #65 patch and 100% dc, doesnt matter if i use 1024*768 or 800*600 . i replaced sound.wz on 5th run but still dc. situation i've met is, my screen stuck for about 10 sec after summoning main HT body, then i crashed in 10 min. i always double clients in HT, but sometimes only 1 client facing screen stuck problem.

 

Seems like the recurring theme here - edit- did the freeze happen when the rock was being hit?

 

No client crashes for me so far (4-6 runs), but all except 1 or 2 runs my connection dropped for just a short moment during main, luckily I wasn't disconnected. I'd blame my country's shitty internet any day, but it's a bit too much of a coincidence to have it happening during main almost every run. Need more test...

Does ur screen freeze for a few second before dcing? And do you get an error?

For me seems to work fine after the file replacement (5/5 runs),so if there is any chance to help u out, id be happy to!

Can u maybe list what u already tried? (e.g redownload, graphic settings, hz monitor and so on)

Yes, my screen suddenly freezes but there is no error.
I redownloaded the client, replaced the file. I restart the client and reboot my computer every time before entering HT. I use single windowed client and a regular 16:9 monitor.
But i have not tried gfx in HT (since idk when to do it).

 

I tryed to do 1 HT without replacing sounds.wz and without using GFX.
Suddenly in the mainbody the client(1024x768) crash with no error, had no lag, and the internet works well.
I should use the solution from this thread? or try something else?

-I replaced sounds.wz file and GFX in leg & tail and its work for me.

 

OMG @Matt FIRST I WANT TO SAY, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!

I have dc-ed 2 of 2 runs (100% chance) before applying your fix. It feels terrible. The dc happens at the main map, after killing legs & tail. Both time the client crushed while I was at >> hitting head. No lag whatsoever, the client just crushed and closed without any error message.

Then, after applying your fix (replacing sound.wz) and updating to the latest driver from Nvidia website, I finally did my first MapleRoyals HT run without d/c!! (14/06/20)

My specs:
i5-6400
GTX 960
8GB Ram

As a side note, I have just participated in an Ola Ola event, and the lag was gone too!!
Previously I used to have ultra-low fps in all gm events; the screen updates twice per second kind of lag (~ 5 fps)
and this Ola Ola actually went smoothly got me really surprised.
Though I might attribute this to the driver update. (My previous driver was only ~2 months old though)

Anyway I'm so happy that I don't dc anymore and I am going for my second run now. Will report back with findings.

3rd run no dc - 15/06/20
4th, 5th, 6th run no dc.

I approve this fix! Amazing.

 

I have the same sign as well. If frame freeze before main body summon it means 100% DC . Do you have any remedy to solve this?

 

I had the same problems in the last 3 HT runs.

After replacing sound.wz, I successfully completed HT.

This solutions worked for me perfectly!

I've done a few HTs without crashing on newest patch.

 

I run HT three times on last patch, seems to work well. 3/3 so far

I did 4 runs of horntail, 3 crashes. i believe the sound.wz file isnt working for me like previously did. The issue still persist such as ; Frame freeze after hitting the crystal (Which indicate 100% DC at head B/C between the 5th & 6th wvyern).

I used to had higher chance of completing the run after replacing the sound file and running on 800x600. However with the recent patch, my client crash like 80% of the time.

To all those who had successfully run, do you mind sharing which client are you running on ? 800x600 or 1024x768?

Im running on 1024x768 (picture quality on low), I didnt change anything at all. Just re-downloaded the game and works fine for me! If i can help somehow,tell me

As always reclient before the run and try WITH and WITHOUT multiclient
