Hi Joon~ This is an amazing guide for bishops!! Thanks for the writeup ~ I learned so much from this guide. One curiosity question though: Where does the 25% number for the defense up buff come from? From what I can find, Horntail seems to have ~1800 weapon defense, but the left arm defense up buff only gives +85 weapon defense, so the 25% number is kinda surprising. I can't seem to find any actual formulas on the damage reduction from boss defense though.
Cant answer your question (math is not my forte) but based on my experience, my damage do decrease by about 25% when defense up buff is active while in HT and the decrement is fairly consistent
Hi guys, currently lvl 94 priest.. grinding it out at PPQ, but find that it's getting harder and harder (or getting bored of it). I have heard others suggesting Himes / Elder Wraiths to train but those will require alot of pot usage. Is it worth it? Plus im not sure if my items are good enough to train there. Current equipment: - 14int Zak helm - 5MA earrings - 87MA ele wand I still using clean work glove / beginner top/btm btw i have slowly saved up till ~1 bil meso right now (didn't buy pots at all) and will like to know what equips should i go for now? or should i just saved up till end game equips. & is there any advice for me on where to train? i do not want to buy leech from others Thanks!
Honestly both those spots are pretty good. Personally I grinded from at Hime's at your level and it gave me pretty decent EXP until 105 ish. I think that you should buy pots to grind out these areas if you want to level more quickly. At your level I don't think your mana pool is large enough to really use the percentage pots to their maximum efficiency. So you're buying the cheaper pots anyways (Sorcerers Elixirs, Chocolates ect) and you'll quickly make it back in whatever drops you pick up (Hime's drop random equips you can NPC and Elder Wraiths drop soiled rags that you can sell in the FM). Gear wise, it's really up to you. Your gear honestly doesn't really matter until fourth job because it's only once you get Genesis that you need to meet magic attack thresholds for 1hits. However, if you feel like your grinding is slow and want to expedite your exp gain investing into scrolling your zak helm or getting some intermediate earrings wouldn't hurt. Joon's guide has nicely divided up the item progression for Bishops as they level up so if you want, you can look at the items in Phase 1 and try to get some of those.
Hi Joon^^~Just checking in again. I'm just reaching Lvl 189 and continuing to chip away at the road to 200. I didn't keep the most accurate tabs of the AP in HP/MP pool after Lvl 182 because I just wanted to wash more for HT. Currently I'm at 9,171 HP and 26,263 MP. I'd like to hit that 10k HP/ 30k MP goal and also treat myself to some of that Tier 5 gear you mentioned, but I wanted to ask why there's 23 base LUK and 999 INT at Lvl 200. Shouldn't LUKless mean 4 base LUK? Thanks again for your guide, I reference it regularly
The most of a stat you can have is 999 AP. However, you receive more than 999 AP during the whole life time of your character due to getting extra points from job changes and other stuff I think. Basically, you put whatever leftover AP you have leftover once you've maxed out INT into luck because it's the secondary stat for a lot of mage equips.
I’m really glad its helpful! Congratulations on building that 10k HP 30k MP bishop btw! You will end up with 999int(limit) once you reach lvl 197. The spare AP should be added into luk, resulting in 4str/4dex/999int/23luk
Hey Jooon! Referring to your spoiler tab “HP/MP Gain Details”. I think this might be off, please see highlighted below: LVL-up MP Gain: 22~24 + 2*'Improved MaxMP Increase' lvl LVL-up HP Gain: 10~14 Fresh AP MP Gain: 18~20 + 1*'Improved MaxMP Increase' lvl Fresh AP HP Gain: 6~10 Reset AP MP Gain: 30 Reset AP HP Gain: 10~20 (Average 15) AP reset MP Cost: 30 AP reset HP Cost: 10 Could you check and confirm when you have a chance? Thanks
I just recently hit my goal of 1 hitting skeles at 164. I know the guide says to start washing at around 150 but I've seen people start later than I want to right now, so I assume I am fine to start the process. I just wanted get to some clarification on the process to make sure I have it right just so I don't screw it up. My goal hp wise is around 5.5k-7k which I assume would let me learn HT easily. If I understand the guide right, after I level I would start putting all my points into MP. Around, lets say 175ish, I would reset my "max mp" skill to zero, then start resetting all my excess mana into hp until I hit my goal for HT. Then after I hit my goal, I would reset even more mana into int until I hit the cap of int for my level. Then I would sp reset my "max mp" skill back to 10 and keep leveling. Like I said I just wanna be sure of the process so I don't screw it up. Thanks
I’ll get back to this soonTM. Yup start washing now at 164, not too late! If this new method is done correctly you should be even able to hit 10k HP with an decent 20k ++ MP. You got the guide right From this level onwards every Fresh AP should be added into MP** You can perhaps do these step now if you have a pool of mesos on hand since APR is pretty affordable currently. Step 1 - Minus Max MP increase to lvl 0 Step 2 - Minus MP into HP goal, example 7k Step 3 - Max MP increase to lvl MAX From this point continue level from 164 and once you reach 29.5k MP Step 4 - Minus Max MP increase to lvl0 Step 5 - Minus MP into INT Step 6 - Max MP increase to lvlMAX Walk towards lvl200 If you think you already have sufficient magic to do what you need to, then once u reach 29.5k MP again, you can just leave the fresh AP as it is and not assign them to save APR money, or of course more magic is always nice. Then repeat above step 4-6.
So what you're saying is, I can technically start taking out of mana now at 165 (as long as I reset my skill first)? I thought I had to do a bunch of leveling first because in the example video you posted, the confirmation box for the apr says you will lose ~100 mana for 6 hp but after closer inspection and reading the guide more in detail that is way off. You are only losing 20 mp for ~15 hp. Is there a reason the confirmation box is so grossly off?
I can't answer the bit about the confirmation box. But yes you could wash out whatever extra mana you've received with your base int and gear up to this point. You'll just need to reset Max MP gain back to 10 after you've washed out as much mana as you want and before you level. I think the 15 HP per wash is an average from what I've read, you can get a little bit more or less than that but the range averages out to 15.
The tip about using cheese is great, I’m annoyed I never thought about it before, I was able to start selling 1 hit skele leech at Lv 130 with pretty mediocre equips, sure I have to spend 60-70 on cheese, but I’m still getting 60-70m p/h profit which is the same I’d get at ulu 1, but I get the crazy exp from one hitting skele. Honestly it’s made the earlier 4th job levels a breeze. Big thanks
is it true the highest u are the less exp the buyer gets? and i heard something about lv range for exp received by the buyer. Something like 140-160 more exp. 161+ less exp. Any answer for that?
There's quite a lot of discussion on this subject, Do take a look at the links attached below! https://royals.ms/forum/threads/leech-discrimination-against-high-leveled-ams-bishops.126351/ https://royals.ms/forum/threads/should-i-stop-lvling-my-archmage.160024/
