Ok. Ill start by saying most things i will say here is just my opinion and theyre not facts.* I wanted to make a thread about this for months thinking that i should really work in a script and learn to desing banners and choose the correct images ETC, but all ive got for thinking in all that is to procrastinate and never make this, so, ill do it just as i can and then i can RE-edit if needed sooooo..tonight lets talk about the reason that makes THIS the best content in mapleroyals, and ofc im talking abouuuuut: LUDI MAZE PQ!!!!!!....NO? OK. im joking( i still love you LMPQ) Im talking about: Ill talk about cwpq and why this not only the best content in royals, is also a mirror where all the future content should look at: Well despite im aware that cwkpq isnt perfect , i think it has enough positive things to value it like this so, ill start with the very few problems i think it has and next to aboard why i think its so awesome. CWKPQ FLAWS: 1.-Promotes MULESTORY and multiclient.-Im not shure if this is a bad thing per se, and its posible that this is even a good thing and im not seeing it correctly, but i always tought that asking for 10 ppl to even start this pq Just reinforces the need of having a lot of mules(wich is something i think devs are not into) 10 ppl make sense in old gms/ems/jms/kms bcs all of those haved a TON of players..sooo getting 2 of each was much easier than it actually is in royals(not to count that with 2k players it has became much easier, pre covid times i have been in partys wich were recruiting for HOURS) If a party actually needs 10 ppl u ganna recruit them...but we all know most cwpq runs are done with less than 5 ppl(altought the times i haved the most fun there is when i was low lvl and runned with a bunch of low lvls like me, we needed 2 SE and 2 warriors no matter what). EDIT: Instead of errase and re write i will add a coment. im not so shure anymore of "promote mulestory" bcs thanks to the long pre quest requisite, amny ppl will struggle to have a good amount of accounts able to even sign cwkpq.We all know that theres a lot of ppl who actually have a ton of mules to this. But the avrg player will have 1-3 account TOPs to run. 2.-STG 1 is JOKE.- I can totally see this being exiting when this pq was just launched... no one knows where the secret portal...and being desperate bcs scary monsters are about to appear! whoooooo....but now since the portal is always at the same spot and not rando mat it should be... this is just a walk stg(not a deal breaker) 3.-Pre quest arent very clear.- ill just compare them with zak and ht pre quest...theres a lined story there where u get clear what u have to do and that there is a big boss waiting for you...in cwpq , well maybe i havent read them properly but it isnt very clear all you have to do to get the pre quest done(im not incluying the "is a pain on the ass to get em done" bcs we hated them just bcs we have to do them MULTIPLE TIMES with all of our mules) aaaaaand this is pretty much it.i cant find any other flaws in it...well it can get boring after some time, but thats all games after we mastered it and do it repetedly for a long time. Well why i think is the best content in game then?..well.. lets start with 1.-It gives to the game THE something it misses the most..BALANCE.- One of the main problems in royals is NLstory..despite i believe nlstory thing isnt as a big deal as some ppl think( theres other jobs as good as a nl like Bishs, or not as good, but pretty solid options like BMs and buccs) Its true that if u have a strong NL with SE and Bish mule u can do pretty much all the content of the game withouth probs, theres even some content where is better to have just nls than have a variety of jobs in your party so lets gather 5 strong nls with all job mules and lets run cwpq!...and PUM!...it cant be done like that... Your bloodwashed bm mule doesnt work there bcs u need either 1 strong or 2 decent bm/mm.... Squad of NLs: Well it doesnt matter...lets invite 1 strong bm and lets run..and....PUM AGAIN!.....bottom bosses are a pain for ranged jobs(it can be done, but its just much harder than just have good melees) Ill summerize my shitty story: cwpq needs ACTUAL bm/mm to get it done. A good hero/drk is AS IMPORTANT as a good NL(can it get any better?) buccs are quite useful and a deadly combination with shad at bottom bosses bucc+shad>2 warr and the king NL is still relevant and really important due the royals pirate boss dispels when ure near to him to a ranged atacker is SUPER IMPORTANT(can be done by bms/mms and sairs aswell) the only job that its a little behind at cwpq may be pallys, but i think they understimate them a bit, bcs they can do a pretty good job at mage boss aswell. I still think that some changes need to be done with some jobs bcs theyre unbalanced, but if devs are really against the jobs changes bcs it may hurt the "nostalgia" the best thing to do is insert more content like this, were all jobs can shine and where is actually better to have this or this job instead of just a pt full of nls. P.D. consider this pls when u add PB if u ever plan to, unlike HT or ZAK where multitarget and melees arent the best , at least they have something to shine(arms at zak and the possibility of hitting multiple parts of HT) PB is a single target boss wich will reinforce even more the current meta, wich is something i think most of us agree that isnt a positive think. There has to be something to make everyone relevant and cwpq shows that is possible. 2.- It has everything: JQ , exclusive jobs rooms and the final boss challenge 3.-Its actually REWARDING.-it gives The best endgame pendant for most Jobs AND it has a bonus stg where dependant on your luck you can be rewarded BIG TIME. i think that if you do a 6 man HT twice a day you will get more profits that if you do a 5-10 man CWKPQ twice day...but this is how it should be, just bcs ht is a higher lvl challenge than cwpq, but still cwpq is just different bcs if u have real luck u can get even more profits This is where AUF HAVEN have failed. it indeed gives a super end game item...but its just that,ofc it gives other pretty good drops, but it seems that it isnt rewarding enough to for a 6 man squad and do it daily...thats the magic of CWKPQ..it has EVERYTHING. I will actually like to hear your comments about this *I reserve the right to edit this in the future, if some coment proves me wrong at some point, i will change the statement, not because of proud, just because i dont want to give false info to any new member who see this thread in the future*
Nice post! Out of curiosity, how do bucc + shad outperform 2 warriors at bot? I thought their multitarget dps are much worse than warriors (unless the shadower bombs).
I don't like this PQ at all, it's only good if you bring like 3 mules at least and the prequest take ages to do When you run with just 1 char it's really trash, I did the PQ like 10 times or so and got absolutely nothing. You waste like 40 minutes on the PQ and organizing outside or more only to end up with a 2 atk mon, and when I did bonus I also got trash stuff
Both combos of shads and buccs keep the 3 bosses pinned 100% time and barely get stunned so they easily take them 1 by 1 in a really short period of time, meanwhile yes, warriors deal more dps, but that extra dmg is taken out by either getting stunned very often and have to re rush them wich makes it a little bit slower(not a big difference tho) I get your feeling soph, and am not trying to change your mind, but like everything in royals luck is always a really important thing, like you know i have been most of my royals journey focused only on my drk, so just the fact that i haved the chance of getting a 3att mon just for participate at a pq being lvl 145 was great to me...i saved 500m ...also runned a ton of 10 ppl cwpq, and yes..all the time it needed to recruit was the worst of it,but to me, it was always fun and the relooting was exiting...at those times 4-5 att was already a reward!...but lile i said i get you....yo hate it like i hate chaosing....or i even imagine waht wouñd i think about HT, if my 1rst 10 runs were like the last 10 ones(all dry)....i would probably be thinking...HT is a waste of time!
As a Shadower, Boomerang Step + Band Of Thieves provides insane DPS, rivaling Heroes/Drks. While they lack Rush and Power Stance, the Bstep+BoT allows them to walk in a direction while performing the Macro, essentially mitigating the KB they experience while fighting the Melee bosses (for people confused, you simply hold the < or > key while performing Bstep+BoT). Buccaneers already do good damage with Barrage+Dstrike and paired with another Multi-target class (in this case, Shad), they'll make short work of the Archer boss while also hitting Warrior/Thief and keeping them pinned. If it's a end-game Bucc, then Snatch+Dstrike will do a lot of damage. With Smokescreen now being 1min 30secs, Shads can provide great relief to Solo/Duo Pirate boss attackers (especially if they can get TL after SS). Nothing like getting 3mins of no KB on Pirate and killing him fast, in my opinion
Exactly, shads buccs and even pallys are underestimated in cwkpq...thanks to their versatile gameplay one of those who are aware all options they can provide, makes them really usefull and aowerfull intead the warrior bottom meta.....inst it great? This os what makes me think that cwkpq is the best
Warriors do approximately double the dps on a bucc on 3 targets (see graph in spoiler, note that graph shows %/s and warrior range is slightly higher than bucc). While bucc can still work on bottom in cwkpq out of necessity, it is typically a situation you want to avoid. Spoiler
Bstep + BoT dps is actually quite low and does not rival warriors at all though. In fact, shadowers hitting 4 targets deals lower dps than warriors hitting 3 targets, so they cannot come close to warriors in 3 target situations (read through this thread for the math - the last post on the first page should have the correct math). It's a different story if the shadower bombs though, as meso explosion dps is actually nuts even with just 5-6k bags. I'm pretty sure in single target scenarios, it's significantly higher than assa + bstep even with high range and apple (maybe at least 1.5x - 2x?), and it's a mobbing skill on top of that. Anyways, I'm just curious to learn how bucc + shad can be strong at cwkpq bottom, since that'd be pretty useful for me as a shadower I get that bucc and shad have more iframes than warriors, but warriors can avoid stun and knockback by face tanking right?
False. this is something u will notice even more if 2 warriors with no SI or if 1 warrior solo even with si(1 warrior solo with no SI is even worse) facing the the bosses will avoid the knockback a decent amount of times but ure still getting stunned a lot, u will only notice a stun reduction when theres 2 warriors with si....number would like this: I solo bottom bosses in around 22-23 minutes with SI i get knockeback 1 or 2 times and got stunned around 10-14 if duo withouth SI ive get stunned aroun 8-10 times...in around 20 mins aswell(i was much weaker the last time i duoed bottom bosses) If duo with SI i was barely get stunned 5-6 times.....bucc+shad avoid more both things stun and knockback try it...u gonna be REALLY surprised(im not quite shure but i think i bit of bombing is implied someone told me that bomb actually stun that bosses by a bit)
thats one of the great things about cwpq, you can not "easily" bring mules to cwpq. Like i stated, it kinda promotes mulestory, but nowhere near as the rest of the game content(putting aside neotokyo) bcs: 1.- the pre quest is long and tedious, so if someone has many mules to bring he/she has done a,lot of work to it. 2.- mules are an issue just bcs ppl take advantage of "utility" jobs withouth maining them, and usually main an nl. in cwpq you just CANT bring a pt of full nls with mules bcs, a strong melee and bms are just as important(if not even more important) as an nl. Other than that i think most of us have experienced a ton of 7-10 man cwpq in our noob days, and newbies still are forced to recruit 8-10 ppl to do it, so,no.
i do play official server(after bb), ppl seldom bring mule there when fighting hard boss like Black mage u still can just R>ur pt dw bring mule in royals like my guildmates or friends always do 4 or 5 men cwk or3,4 men ht good benefit to them, they dont need to R> full pt then
