What GM banned you (optional): Unsure I understand that my message could (and was) interpreted as a violation of MapleRoyals terms, however I never planned to "trade" anyone's account. At the time, it was just ill-advised trolling. I understand why the ban occurred but I am wondering if my account can be reinstated. It has been 7 years since the incident and I really would just like to be able to access my account again. Hi there! Sorry for the wait. I've checked your IGN and you were permenately banned back in 2017 for account sharing according to the Ban Log. All though I think it's possibly an older ban because 2017 was when we made the jump from Old Source to New Source. Would you happen to recall any other IGNs you own, or if you were living with somebody who had also played could you recall their IGNs as well too? I don't really have anything else to go off of since I joined Staff in 2020 and this is a ban from 5+ years ago.
Honestly, since it has been so long I can only recall the one character's name. Personally, I think the ban reason (account share) is unfounded because I never shared accounts at all. The ban was the result of a single, lighthearted smega message and I can promise you that there was no ill-intent behind the message. I never intended to account share nor would I. I understand the difficulty you face in judging this because it was so long ago, but please try to see it from my point of view. If you look back in my forum history, I tried an appeal the day the ban happened and was shut down. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do.
I see. I've requested a couple of second opinions from the Admins and other Staff as this is a ban done way before my time on Staff, and I'm not comfortable making the correct judgement on it on my own solely based on that reason, and the limited access I have to bans done that long ago.
I unfortunately have to bring some bad news and say the consensus is since you've already appealed and were denied we cannot lift that original decision. All though it was a joke as you say, there is unfortunately that chance where it could've been taken seriously by another player as you chose to broadcast it via smega. I regret to inform you that you will have to remain permanently banned as it falls under the believable claim appendix.
That's a real shame. Personally I think it's crazy that someone would be banned for a message and absolutely no malicious action. That's like arresting someone for announcing that they are going to commit a crime. No crime = no crime. Either way, your server your rules. Goodbye!
