I did investigate at the time I caught the player actively hacking at Wolf Spiders. I've seen you exchange buffs with the players multiple times which indicates that you were definitely in a party with him, as well as receiving buffs and experience points from his kill. If you didn't happen to see him hack directly, which I find hard to believe because I've seen him kill monsters near you, you could've still noticed by how much more experience you were getting and how fast the player moved around the map.
