Font

I remember back in EMS Demethos (when it first came out) some people such as Shaun changed their font on maple (like the chat box).

Is this possible on MapleRoyals? And if so, is it illegal? (Might require editing the original files?)

 

You need to change the windows default font registery entries to the font you would like to have.
Has nothing to do with editing the game.

 

Guessing it's going to be impossible on a mac?

 

I don't work with Mac but I don't think it is impossible.

I might look at that and figure out an alternative for OS X.

If there's a regedit or something similar, you just have to edit the default font used by MapleStory. For example, on Windows, you change all the Arial fonts, to whatever you desire. After saving it, restart PC. That's basically it. However, I don't know about macs.

 

This is the exact guide I used ages ago when I changed mine for maplestory. Works perfectly for Windows. No idea if you can use any of this for Mac though, it's very window specific.
