Hi everyone,

I'm a casual gamer mostly into RPGs such as Zelda and I'm new to Maplestory. My BF asked me if I wanted to try to play with him and I decided to give it a try. I'm not quite sure yet which class I'll be playing as my main but I'm trying out some while reading the wonderful guides on this forum.

My IGN for now is ArieChann

I hope to have some fun with this game and what looks to be a wonderfull comunity.

If you are completely new to maple, here is a brief overview of the classes so you have a better idea of each class:

Warrior:
Hero - Tanky, high HP, multiple target medium high damage melee class. Some say can be boring
Dark Knight - High HP, multiple target high damage melee class. Need to manage HP to do maximum damage, a little bit more difficult than hero
Paladin - Incredibly tanky, high HP, single target melee class. Has, dare I say, the worst dps in terms of bossing. Almost never wanted for bossing, it's the hard life. Rare class.

Archer:
Bowmaster - Low HP high damage ranged class. Highly wanted for bossing due to a very wanted party skill. Can be boring with one skill attack endgame.
Marksman - Low HP high damage ranged class. Also highly wanted for bossing due to the same party skill. More interesting than bowmasters.

Thief:
Night Lord - Low HP, high avoidability, high mobility extremely high damage with the right buffs, ranged class. Expensive to fund but many say is a fun class (and most common attacker class)
Shadower - Medium tanky, low HP, high avoidability melee class. Very technical to play and need a lot of repetitive clicking and copy+paste skills.

Pirate:
Buccaneer - Medium HP, medium mobility, versatile low damage class. Wanted by some for a particular party buff. Many say is a fun class despite its low damage.
Corsair - Low HP, extremely high damage ranged class. Very technical because you need to know and learn different boss animation attacks and timing. Rare species.

Magician:
Bishop - Tanky, low HP medium mobbing damage ranged caster. Highly wanted in all parties due to a specific party skill. Also known to be grindy but a very good money maker. Most common class played.
Ice-Lightning Arch Mage - Tanky, low HP ranged caster. Medium-high damage mobbing class. Also known to be grindy. Rarely accepted into boss runs.
Fire-Poison Arch Mage - Tanky, low HP ranged caster. High damage mobbing class. Known to be grindy. Rarely accepted into boss runs.

Thank you for the resume, I think I like the Night Lord or the Bowman but I'm worried about the fact that its expensive to fund because of gear and apparently the need for washing?

What class is your BF playing? Maybe you can pick a class that works well with your BF's character.

He is currently playing as a cleric, I believe he's lvl52 now

If he is new to the server (Lv 52 cleric as his first character), a spearman/dragon knight/dark knight works really well with cleric/priest.
IMO dragon knight is the highest DPS class if unfunded.
