I have windows 8 and maplestory runs fine for me? I usually get the error when trying to open it saying the parameter is incorrect but after a couple trys it will open. My bf has also fixed this problem for me, i have to run maplestory as administrator, its only bee a day or 2 though so we will se eif its fixed and im not just getting lucky Anyways you should post whatever error your getting on the forums and someone will surely have a fix for you.
