Everyone must hang out in CC 1 to avoid Lag. Seriously.... Join me in owning CC 1 and we shall rule all of HappyVille and its entities.
Or you can also just let the lag die down once it says 80%, before donating the rest. The initial lag is from everyone CCing, after that it settles down. Want a real PSA? Stop spamming skills in the event map. Genesis , blizzard, big bang, poison mist- they're all useless for everything except for lagging others and making even more people d/c. The only way you can kill the snowman is to get a pair of mittens from the Fairy in front of the snowblower, and snowballs, and use basic attack.
Night lords can actually use TT if they have a mitten equipped. Bowmen of all varieties can use their skills if they have a bow equipped, but have snowballs in front of all their arrows. Certainly makes killing him faster/easier.
Make it so that donating 500 snow gives you an entrance ticket like in APQ, and make only 20-30 presents drop (because 10k/500 = 20). Solves both problems at once, but then you have to do something about all the people AFKing in there. Only problem this brings up is there wont be as many red socks for me to buy </3 Also consider just removing the notices. That way people could do runs with their guilds or buddy lists or even (mostly) solo, and there would be much smaller numbers of people CC'ing. You could still catch the snowman even if you didn't know that someoen was going for it if you paid attention to the tracker on the front page.
Clearly you don't know the feeling of holding the trigger to disconnect the server In all seriousness, I'd rather not have the snowman boss and maintain a relatively lag-free server for the rest of the month. Perhaps have a GM spawn the Snowman boss every so often and kill it right there, making it spontaneous.
I like the idea of removing the notice and just letting people find out through word of mouth/watching the website. All the lag comes in the first few minutes of everyone CCing anyway. The rest of it is just skill lag, and if we can disable skills in the event map (as well as disable pets so people dont afk with autoloot on) then I think it'd be just as fair.
