Hi guys! I'm a new player invited by a friend yesterday. Really glad to join this huge server. : ))

I'm from Taiwan and I hope my English is good enough to fully describe my issue without any misunderstanding.

So I'd like to play with my friend with Discord chatting and the only problem is the noise of my blue switch keyboard.

I really enjoy my keyboard but I know the noise may cause others' inconvenience.

That's the reason I wanna try to play with XB1 controller.

I did do my research on how to play MS with controller. JoyToKey is the most recommended one as I searched.

So I did finish the settings and it works just fine outside the game, like wordpad.

But it just not responds at all in MR, not even in the chatting box while typing.

    i tried running as admin,

i tried Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3) based on this: https://forums.maplestory.nexon.net/discussion/25401/need-help-with-controller-support

As you can imagine, nothing helps for now.

I found some people with same problems on MR forum in the comments and their problems don't seem to be solved yet.

I'd be really grateful if there's anything you can help me with!

I sometimes have an issue where my controller won't even highlight the buttons I'm pressing. A simple restart of my computer usually solves that problem. With the buttons highlighting properly, indicating that it is working, I usually find that it works if I close royals, then open it up again after JoyToKey is open and working. One final fix that I have is that sometimes you can go into settings -> configure joysticks and it does something within the program to register your controller. All 3 are worth trying. The most important step, though, is making sure that the buttons that you are pressing are highlighted in yellow on joytokey.

Close Joy2Key through task manager and restart it as admin. Closing Joy2Key through the X in the top right doesn't actually kill the process -- it sends it to the background. Because of this, trying to open it as admin doesn't actually do anything... since it's already open.

You can close it by going file -> exit too. But yeah this is also sorta important because if you launched without admin, 'closed' it, then relaunched as admin, it would still pull up the non-admin version

Glad to hear! just remember not to use more than one input per button, as this is bannable as a macro.
