So this is in situation where your wifi is at fault. I'm horrible with tech stuff and codes make me want to kill myself so I'll keep this as simple and dumbed down as possible (mainly because I'm ignorant). This issue seems to be a mac issue so PC people if this happens to you, I don't really know what to say. So you tried DNS flushing and it didn't work or maybe you did it incorrectly but you thought you did it correctly. You know the whole: sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder in terminal it says password but it looks terminal is frozen but it actually isn't Well try this. Try change your DNS server... "WHAT? What's that?" I have no clue but just do it. This is on Mavericks. Go to system preferences, networks, then advanced in the wifi side tab. Click the DNS tab, and then add 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 into the DNS server list, click ok and apply and viola, it should work! If anybody has found different ways to solve this issue, please post them onto this or make a new one and include this method within it too.
no problem but be sure to try http://royals.ms/forum/threads/runtime-error-abnormal-program-termination.17532/ and here is another DNS server 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 and the link that i found that helped through the whole process: http://www.macinstruct.com/node/434
hmm.. i have no idea for windows but if it has similar symptoms, it should be your wifi that's the problem not your computer so it's definitely worth a shot. oh and btw, if you dc upon arriving to the fm and are stuck there, forcing you to dc as soon as you log into your character, you should redownload and reinstall the client
I have found that the easiest way to solve it on a mac is by rebooting your computer. Works for me anyway.
rebooting as in restarting it? This is for the times/situations where you restarted over 10 ten times, tried DNS flushing and are too stupid to do any code work. I've gotten this error before and believe me, rebooting it did work but I don't think it was the DNS per say but I can't really say as I don't really know much tech stuff.
