Last thing you did: Farming Heartstoppers, other clients afking in FM

Why do you think you got banned?: Robotic Play as said by Muff- I was hunting stoppers when Muffed talked to me. I responded only 1-3 minute after his last message. This wasn't the first time and i knew i had to respond to any GM that came. I've always responded to other GMs as such like Soren and ManE when they came to do their routine checks. I seek for some leniency in this as i did reply Muff in the end and would like to emphasize on the fact that i would never use any kind of hacks or anything else related to gain unfair advantage in the game.

Do you not feel that attacking for several minutes, gaining experience, money, and drops without any effort would be an unfair advantage?

 

Thanks for replying Muff. My effort comes in taking the time to train the characters first. I agree that there is a huge advantage when it comes to BM auto-hurricane farming and that's still a highly debated topic until today. Even so, as long as that function is allowed, it can't be classified as an unfair advantage because i wasn't using any hacks while doing so - which in this i actually trained those characters on my own to achieve that advantage. As compared to someone giving me APRs (Legit Advantage) versus Vote Abusing to get APRs(Unfair Advantage). In my appeal, i would like to seek for leniency for the main reason i was ban which i am clearly aware of - (Reply any GM that talks to you, or appears). One fact i hope would support my appeal is that i did reply GM Muff just seconds after his last message, and minutes after his first, for this i sincerely seek for a re-evaluation of the ban - that i wasn't Robotic Playing / Macrobotting . And would also like to re-emphasize that i would never use any hacks and things like that to gain unfair advantage.

 

You were never accused of, nor were you banned for, using hacks. You were given a temporary ban for your character attacking for a long time, gaining experience, mesos, and drops without your input at all since your character was automatically attacking with the Hurricane skill without you even holding a button down. Do you see how that is gaining an unfair advantage over those players who are legitimately training their characters and gaining experience and money through continued actions, while being present at the game client?

 

Thanks Muff again for the swift response. A temporary ban may seem reliefing but i still feel wronged ;| and if my following response fail, i would like to know how long temporary would be because according to the T&C's the first offence for Robotic Play is 7 days.

But to answer your point, isn't Auto-Hurricane part of the game mechanics? Because before i even ventured into this money making method i've even deeply researched into the black and whites of this "Auto-Hurricane" technique and since then i had the assumption it was allowed, that's why i did it.

What made me thought it was okay to do so finally, despite all the on-going debates->

It is a 7 day ban.
As for Hurricane being a part of the game's mechanics. It is, but it's not intended. Yes, it's possible for your character to continue attacking with Hurricane even when the client is not the foreground application, however any action by your character should be done with you being in full control of it. That means paying attention when pinged by another player or staff member. Seeing as you were attacking without responding for a while it means you were not in control of the character and therefore were guilty of Robotic Play.

 

Alright, thanks Muff ! So 7 days from today. But i have an assumption to clarify due to new confusions i have now, maybe this may help Auto Hurricane farmers who view this appeal, decide on what to do .

1) Auto-Hurricane is allowed as long as i reply to a GM talking to me within a reasonable timing that wouldn't deem the player to be participating in Robotic Play. (Regardless of farming, krexing, bossing, training, etc)

Lastly, on the login screen, am i supposed to see a blue chat box that states the end of my ban date instead of "This is an ID that has been deleted or blocked from connection"?

I've just checked your ban duration and it seems that it would expire in the right amount of time.

Also, in relation to Hurricane, as Muff has pointed out earlier, auto attacking using Hurricane until your mana runs out is allowed but you must be in control of your character at all times. You are not allowed to go AFK while your character is performing actions as you'll be unable to respond to anyone in a timely manner. The offence of robotic play and/or botting is committed when a player does not respond to the prompts of other people, especially GMs.
