I didn't remember having that character. The only IGN I can remember is Commis. edit: Also, I did try to restart my router as I am not sure if I was banned in the first place. I'm not sure if I did that correctly though lmao.
Hello! Just checking up on this ban appeal. I've seen multiple (some being particularly extensive) ban appeals handled in the recent days and was wondering if there was something wrong with what I said? I know y'all busy I started playing again on my "beerbelly" IGN but I don't want to get too far into Royals again if there are any lingering, unaddressed problems that I am unaware of with my old account that will potentially get me banned on this account too.
You last logged in from the same computer and connection as Hipp who was banned for RWT solicitation.
Hey Muff, thanks for the reply. I don’t RWT; never have and never will. I’ve worked full time for the past five years as a chef (some years ~80 - 100 hour weeks) and comparably do not see any/extremely minimal benefit in it. And as I remember it, I didn’t have anything of value that would motivate me to sell RW in the first place. I played super casually, a few all nighters here and there when I had a few days off but not much else. This is unfortunate as I have no hard evidence to back this save for claims of personal character and real life premise :/. I could not tell you the last time I logged into that account but again, my last memory of playing MapleStory was years ago!
After checking in on a few things you will remain permanently banned, not only for the RWT solicitation but also the major vote abuse. Hipp is indeed your character and you had already appealed this some time ago and been denied.
I’m so confused, where is the evidence for this? I don’t RWT and I definitely don’t vote abuse. Can you confirm that this is all from the same IP address that I am using now? I’m looking through my past posts and I do not see any posts/topics created from my forum account regarding a ban appeal for that character. What of my other account? If it's not you, why did you share a connection between Hipp and Commis as well as the same email addresses for registration?
I must have been hacked. I trust you in that there is a share in connection between the two characters which would explain the same email address for registration, but I am telling you that I did not do any of that which this person using my account as Hipp did. What of the forum accounts, they can't possibly be the same e-mail addresses? I'm also going through this person's forum account page, posts, and following/followers and I recognize absolutely none of these people. I would also go as far as to say (and guarantee) that if we were to ask these people about this person's name, location, hobbies, mannerisms, whatever, it would be completely incomparable to me. I realize that this is in no way shape or form a means to get me unbanned as it would be completely subjective (and may not even be possible as this person was banned years ago), but I am telling you that that person is not me. This is frustrating. I understand that from your end, with all of the information you have available to you, it points to "Yes, this is your character", but my only defense is that it is a) not me and b) I would never do any of the things that this person did. Does your data show you if the last time I logged into my account via the same computer and connection was before this person was banned because it surely had to have been? Also, if that person was me, why would I make a new forum account to post a ban appeal like they did, when this account was created many months before they were banned? As Staff, I know you are easily able to connect the dots of in-game accounts to forum accounts so it would make no sense for me to try and make a new forum account unless however, it wasn't me that was using that account. This person must not have known that this forum account existed, and as such made a new forum account, because it was a completely different person. Andreas, who I am assuming was a former GM, even states that on top of breaking rules regarding RWT + Vote Abuse, they also broke another rule by making multiple forum accounts. Had this person actually been me, I would have just used this forum account, but again, I wouldn't have got myself to be in the position of being banned in the first place. But of course you can argue that if someone broke the rules of RWTing and Vote Abusing, why would they care for an infraction based on another forum account? The two are incomparable at that point. What is the last known point of connection from this person? Has that point of connection ever tried to log into this current forum account that I am using? I've never logged into that forum account and I assure you if you are able to dig that deep, you will find that that forum account was never logged in through the connection I am using now. Are you able to track that deep? Edit: Regardless, I accept this ban and will no longer fight it. I do not condone the actions of the person and see no way out of this ban seeing what they did. I am all for fair game play and it would certainly not be fair for me to be able to hop back on an account that was banned for what could be seen as exceptionally drastic advantages in potential items, mesos, levels, etc... given the insane amount of vote abuse they did. I just want you, the rest of the staff and whoever else has read this ban appeal server thus far to know that yes, this is my account, but it is not I who attempted RWT soliciting and vote abused. I said it before and I will say it again; I never have and never will do either of those things! I’d also to thank you, Muff, for giving this the time of day in the first place. I had no idea that the ban was for something that serious pertaining to the rules of the server, but dude, I’m telling you, it’s not me. Lastly, I want to know; will this ban affect my playing Royals on the character I am playing on now? Will this ban have any roll over effect down the road if I decide to continue to invest my time and play further to perhaps get good? I am really enjoying being back and playing, but I would rather not continue if another ban is imminent.
If you are indeed not Hipp, can you tell me why your character was connecting from an IP address from Canada and just hours later was connecting from Hipp's IP address and computer? Were you sharing your account details with Hipp?
Hey, thanks for reopening the thread. Yeah, now remembering, I did give my account details to a friend after I quit. I must have hopped back on one last time before pulling the cord for real. I truly didn't know they were a hacker and certainly didn't expect for them to do that after I was done. Thanks for listening to me throughout this process. I know this must have been time consuming on your end and however little or much time you used to work through this appeal, I apologize. I still stand by my claim that it wasn't me who RWT'd + Vote Abused, but I admit to giving my account details away to someone I trusted, which isn't passable in the first place. They, and myself included by doing so, created some extent of unfair game play and for that I apologize as well. I did however, for as long as I was on the server before up until that moment and still now, play the game fairly. I'll take my ban now. Thanks again Muff. Edit: Turns out I did know they were a hacker. I remembered they had a ban appeal from the first character I met them on and they were banned for creating a macro. Not entirely sure what I was thinking giving them my account details, but couldn't have predicted this. Thanks and apologies again.
