For your sake, please read this before applying for Staff.

Hello. I would like to voice my opinion on staff on mapleroyals, while also bidding farewell to the server.

You guys have to stop applying for staff if you're in the middle of something in life.
Seriously.
Adding that stress and responsibility to your life, while also ruining some of your friendships in game will only hurt you.
I know some people think like "Oh let me join so I have something to look for" but bruv you don't need that in your life.
I quit staff because something that happened and I would like to share it.

Someone came up to me and said that a guildmate talked about suiciding all day long, and logged off. He said he would do it at 8 pm in front of a camera.
I don't live in the US. I have no idea how to contact 911 and if they'll even take me seriously. So I ask for help in the staff discord.

Nobody gave a shit.
For almost 2 hours.
Literally nobody took me/him seriously.

I pm'd the only person I trust on staff, the purest soul to ever join staff on this server, my man Gert.
He took me seriously.
We spent around 8 hours working out details, talking to 911 and waiting for their response on the wellness check.
Long story short, he was alright. But that was a long ass day. I stayed up until 6 am because the deadline was getting closer and I couldn't get it off my mind.
After that I logged off, and cried for like 30 minutes before I fell asleep.
I signed up to be a forum mod because my life was a mess and I was looking for something to get me out of bed. I had no idea it would make it everything worse.

But, this is exactly what staff needs to be. Staff NEEDS people like Gert. Staff NEEDS to care about the playerbase. By caring I mean checking whats up, not just banning RWTers and hackers.

Something is fundementally wrong with the staff right now, and it all has to do with autoban. You are turning every gm into a brainless robot that only knows how to ban people...
You forgot that the GMs are supposed to be the bridge between the community and staff members.
Until autoban is fixed, I wouldn't advise anyone to join staff. Literally working your ass off, under the false sense that you are MAKING CHANGES...
Nothing has changed for years now, just the same cycle.
New interns excited to help - > Getting worked to death while patroling or banning hackers - > Getting promoted and ending up completely burnt out - > Leaving staff.

Did they make any difference? Absolutely no. The market is still inflating, hackers are still running free in every world tour map, while they gave so much to this community...
You give your time and soul, and in return just add stress to your life. You really don't need that. Don't lie to yourself that you do.

Bottom line is-
You want to play god? Boot up Age of Mythology and do it there. No need to act allmighty in ban appeals because at the end of the day it's only a video game.



Thank you guys for the love you showed me when I came back from my 6 month forum ban, I didn't expect people to remember me.

I also want to thank Resignation again. The guild is literally the only thing I wished from a guild. A chill place where I can meet people and talk about anything, without having to worry about my lvl or my bossing abilities.

To Rogue - I never understood why you accepted me but you guys are really cool. I know you got a bad rep because you like the game a bit too much, but you're all cool people.


Despite the recent drama I truly love this community. Imo this community is the only reason the server is still alive.

you dude are completely right, its always been that way ,GM's are there to ban people, scout forums... no your there to watch over each and every player, take notes, follow up , its an extreme job to do, and only few people are cut out for it. not everyone has the heart,and desire to actually be a GM/mod on a server they always loved growing up .
