Trying this idea out. I'm hosting a team sport tournament similar to the OMOK tournament to spice up the community. Eligibility to join: Teams made up of 3 people in each team. You may not swap team members without formal request by quoting your unedited forum application, and then resubmit the application with new team member's name. No job or level requirement. Mandatory entry fee of 3 ap resets per team. Must pay the entry fee before the tournament starts. No refund unless the tournament is cancelled or if the team withdraw before tournament begin. I personally do not gain any profit from this. 100% of the entry fees are used as the prize for first place. Fill out an application (see below) Application format: Name of the Team: IGN of the team members: Team's formation: (class, and level) Time the team will be online: (referenced to server time) Rules: Setting/Map will be in twisted path only. No other maps will be considered. A thief class with dark sight will be the referee, and he or she will hit and lure the bigfoot to the middle of the map while both teams stand by the goal (each side of the wall). First team that pushes the bigfoot to the other team's wall wins. If the Bigfoot dies before the match is over, whoever whites it that team wins the match. The game will be single elimination. The winner team will advanced to the next tier on the bracket and play the next team. AP reset prize will award to the last team standing among all teams. It's teams' responsibility to meet up and play the other team. If a team doesn't respond within 48 hours in the game or on the forum, that team automatically forfeit, and the other team advanced to the next tier. If the two teams cannot find a time to meet up, I'll arrange a different match up or extend the 48 hours time limit. If you die you cannot respawn. The team with dead teammate(s) must stick with the handicap until the game is over. You may receive resurrection from bishop if and only if bishop is one of the 3 team members. No AFK buff mules allowed on the team Jobs/classes to consider for this event: Warriors with rush for obvious reason. Buccaneer with corkscrew, barrage, and demolition. Barrage and demolition can put bigfoot in a invincible i-frame so the other team cannot push for a short period of time. Corsair with rapid fire and battle ship cannon. Fast ranged attack can interrupt other team's push. Hermit/NL with flash jump, shadow partner, and luckystar/triple throw. Fast ranged attack can interrupt other team's push. Bowmaster with hurricane. Fast ranged attack can interrupt other team's push. Official Tournament Date TBD. Will determine the tournament date after at least a few teams registered.
Nono. The teams can start meeting up AFTER May 4th 23:59 pm ST. Teams have 48 hours time frame to meet up. You dont have to play right at May 4th 23:59 pm ST. Edit: The tournament itself may take days or week to finish.
I think, you need to state that clearly, because from your post, it suggests that the tournament itself will start on that time ... That was the reason why I chose not to participate as well since it's 1am my time on a Friday after a busy week at work ...
Lag would be a major factor. When fighting bf alone it doesn't lag because when he chases you, his actions are being determined by your client. When he switches targets, the game moves his behavior to the new player's client, and it can cause a big lag spike that makes him seemingly teleport. If you're in his path when that happens you usually take the 12k hit. Still sounds like fun though and I'll sign up if I can get a team. But I'll have to be sure I'm around 0% exp lol
While I like the idea, it would be worth to try it first due to the frames. Perhaps anego or samurai would be better so it’s full dps pin
The bigfoot I-Fram was precisely reason I pick bigfoot instead of other high hp area boss that you can pin 100%. This tournament wasn't designed for a team of bm/nl like the typical "bossing" team tho. It wasn't meant for two teams just stand there hold down a buttom to see who can pin it faster. If that's the case the best team will be 3 BM because they don't need to rebuff as often as NL, and they do not have long rebuff animation like shadow partner. This tournament was designed to give randomness due to i-frame and fairness to have mixture of different classes in the team instead of a dull mixture of the usual bosser like NL and BM. I have done this on Royals with another warrior 1 v 1, it works, but I haven't test it out in a team setting.
I think it'd be cool if there was something like CPQ 3 for lvl 120 to 200 that allowed guilds to have similar competitive or for fun tournaments.
