As the title states, I will be listing some useless informations that I know and I noticed during my Mapling days, because apparently I have too much time to waste on instead of being productive like a normal human being.

Starting off with this "too much time in my hand" kind of stuff, but did you know that the cat statue in Henesys Pet Park blinks?
It takes you a full 20 minutes (starts when you enter the map) if you really want to check this out and have too much time in your hands, like I do.

Did you know that there is two unused NPC for Malaysia?

    upload_2020-12-4_21-36-56.png
"Now how do you know that these NPC comes from Malaysia?"
How many theme parks are there in Maple, for real? Also Mutu appeared in MSEA World Select screen when Malaysia was introduced, so I guess he belongs to Malaysia world, so that's that. (forgive the crusty cute JPEG)
They served unknown purpose, but their files exist in the game and spawning them does nothing really, other than Mutu asking you if he is rocking with the bunny ear and the Owner welcoming you.
    upload_2020-12-4_21-52-5.png
On a side note, since we're talking about Malaysia in this part, I wonder why GMS version (and Royals too) of Malaysia doesn't include hair salon and hospital areas on Trend Zone Metropolis?

I might miss something or get my information wrong here, but we all know there's tons of anime and some references on the hairstyle so I'll try my best to list them here.

There's probably more that needs listing here, so let me know~

I'm not Inusama, stop coming up to me and ask me if I'm one of Inusama's character we are two different person please, I'm a cheap Inu that can't even use (i) on his name so I have to use (L) for it

That's all I can list for now, maybe if I remember what I know and all, I'll add more to this thread.

This thread is all over the place now so I might just post random stuff.

I think there is probably a thread about this, but I'm just gonna put some effects that people might not know about, or stuff idk.

Not gonna bother putting any of the Chinese set or the set that I think everyone knows about.

Gentle Hanbok (M/F) gives you a Korean Rabbit effect.
    upload_2020-12-7_17-0-21.png

Legendary Gold Poop Hat and Golden Fly Ring gives you... flies.
    upload_2020-12-7_17-2-16.png

Lunar Celebration Set gives you Lunar Celebration Effects.
    upload_2020-12-7_17-4-52.png

Red Headband, Red Full Coat and Kimono Shoes gives you Shinsun Red Effects. (There's two more Shinsun effect, but we're missing most of the items needed for the effect to work, bummer...)
    upload_2020-12-7_17-6-47.png

Horoscope Set gives you Horoscope Effect according to which hat are you wearing.
    upload_2020-12-7_17-12-45.png upload_2020-12-7_17-13-16.png upload_2020-12-7_17-13-31.png

This hat. You do it yourself.
    upload_2020-12-7_17-27-4.png

The effect im gonna list down here is not available in Royals, because we lack the NX needed for it.

    Shinshun Grey Effect.
    upload_2020-12-7_17-29-36.png

    Korean Soccer Ball Effect.
    upload_2020-12-7_17-32-20.png

    Korean Boy/Girl Effect.

Speaking about Zipangu, Showa Town is probably the most recognizable town ever. Almost everyone has a memories about it, whether it's the enemy design or the memories of dying there and unable to return back to Mushroom Shrine.
    upload_2020-12-7_22-9-1.png
Anyway, what is Showa Town based on actually? Is it based on a specific town or region of Japan? Well, the answer is, Showa Town is based on... you guessed it, the Showa Era (1926-1989). So basically, Showa Town is just a stereotypical images of what a Japanese city or towns looks like during Showa Period.

Specifically, Showa Town could be set on somewhere around the 70's or the 80's because you can spot an M16 rifle on the Armory, which started their production on the year of 1963.
    upload_2020-12-7_21-2-56.png
So, that answers all the questions right? Well, not really. Because somehow, there exists a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R in the Parking Lot.
    upload_2020-12-7_21-14-50.png
It can't be in the 70's or the 80's then because Nissan Skyline R34 was introduced on the year of 1998 (or 1999, depends), which makes Showa Town is set somewhere around the Heisei Era (1989-2019). Well, what's the problem then?

To answer that question, you need to keep in mind that the reason why World Tour area exists is (probably) to introduce the players to the cultures and places on how those area is like in real life. Zipangu, from my opinion, is designed as a different time period area, and the reason why is because of the appearance of the Edo Period of the Ninja Castle, the very futuristic era of Neo Tokyo, and the recent addition of current Tokyo that was added on 2014, which introduces JMS players with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building area and the red light district Kabukicho. You thought they'd check stuff to make sure its historically accurate, but who cares?

    upload_2020-12-7_22-21-6.png
Anyway, what's the story of Showa Town? Is there a reason why are we fighting against yakuza enemies? I have no proof that this could be the actual story for Showa Town but, I'm really really sure that we can agree that this is how it goes.

So basically, Showa Town exists on the period of what the Japanese used to call, the Japanese Asset Price Bubble, or barburu keiki, "bubble economy" period where the Japanese real estate and stock market prices were greatly inflated. This is where the yakuzas and the loan sharks are starting to do what opportunistic people does, take chances of it and make profit as much as you can. This brings us to the Hideout Building, which is the Flaming Raccoon Finance building, which is a front organization for the yakuzas of Showa Town are. The yakuzas are, surprise surprise, working for a flaming raccoon, hence, the organization name, The Flaming Raccoons. Top tier writing. Anyway, the flaming raccoon, under the guise of The Boss (do note that tanukis are a very mischievous creature in Japanese folklore), sets up a debt company (for the hundredth time, The Flaming Raccoon Finances) that forcibly lends money to the resident of Showa Town and giving them a big fat interest on their debts, which, kinda reminds me of someone... damn you Tom Nook!

So, it's up to us on stopping them for once and for good, for the sake of the Showa Town resident... It's nothing special or anything, but a story is still a story. Anyway, I'm done with most of the Showa Town backgrounds and all, so lets go to the useless information and stuffs we here for, starting with the Armory weapons.

    upload_2020-12-7_21-25-36.png
I'm no gun nut, but here we can see two unidentified rifle, two Winchester M1887 lever action shotgun, an AK-47 and bunch of hand grenades.
    upload_2020-12-7_21-29-37.png
The yakuza also had a stock of spears, Green Dragon Crescent Blades and two missiles with Shibuyan and (?)Kenta etched on it. What's the meaning, I have no idea.
    upload_2020-12-7_21-31-39.png
Type 97 mortar and M72 LAW rocket launcher, top tier military stuff.
    upload_2020-12-7_21-34-20.png
Two Type 97 Chi-Ha medium tanks. Why would a yakuza organization needs it, no idea. At this point, it's no longer an organize crime gang and more of a national threat now. And whatever the heck is that turret...
By the way, did you know that The Boss received a new redesigned? Here's the old (and the one in Royals) Boss looks like :
    upload_2020-12-7_21-58-5.png
And here's the redesign one :
    upload_2020-12-7_21-54-3.png
As for the reason why, I'm sure it's obvious that the Koreans (and some other Asians too) doesn't really like the Rising Sun symbol on The Boss' fan. I'm not gonna go in depth on why is that sign is offensive to them (read : WW2 history), but it's one of the very weird decision as KMS don't have Zipangu at all. But eh, moving on...

Did you know that there is two version of Showa Town mobs? One of them are the one that's present in Royals right now and the other one is used in GMS, EMS and CMS back then, because apparently they're too violent so they have to tone it down a bit.

Did you know that Extra B is the one who's driving Male Boss' limousine?
    upload_2020-12-7_23-7-5.png
Did you know that Leader A shouts "Bakana?" (impossible?) when killed? His audio is so low that you barely can hear him.

This is probably a useful information in a useless thread, but if you're itching for a bit of fame and you have lots of free time and willing to spend a bit of effort, these quests would give you a giant amount of fame you might want.

(I'd include Papulatus Prequest here since it gives you a whoop ass of 30 fame, but I feel like almost everyone will do it anyway, it's like a mandatory thing to do when you hit 4th, so I'm not gonna include it here.)

Malek's Joy of Music (Level 50 and above)
    https://bbb.hidden-street.net/quest/malaysia/maleks-joy-of-music
A very simple quest that gives you 26 fames in total, this is just a simple fetch quest. Collect 150 Coconut Husk and 250 Rebab earlier on to make it easy on yourself.

Goddess' Pet (Level 55 and above)

    https://global.hidden-street.net/quest/el-nath-mt-aquaroad/goddesss-pet
A little bit of effort needed for this one, but this is still fairly an easy quest to do, and one of the memorable quests. To make it easier, buy a Galore Sack if Eliza refuses to show up. Gives you 20 fame.

Snowfield Giant (Level 120 and above)
    https://global.hidden-street.net/quest/el-nath-mt-aquaroad/snowfield-giant
Not much of a chore for this quest, requires you killing a Snowman. Gives you 20 fame.

The Forgotten Master (Level 85 and above)

    https://global.hidden-street.net/quest/mu-lung-nihal-desert/the-forgotten-master
A little bit of effort needed too for this one, kinda like Goddess' Pet, minus the memorable part and giving you just 15 fame. It gives you fame still, so might as well as do it.

(I know that The Missing Alchemist in Magatia gives you 30 fame for completing it, but it requires a great amount of effort and bunch of prequests and all, but if you're interested in Magatia's storyline and all, I'd say give this a shot still.)

I know there is more quests that gives you fame, but most of them gives you below 15 or smth idk

I love trivia threads like this! I would love to collect one myself, particularly interested with stuff that's going on around Victoria Island. I remember back then I used to write a lot of useless information (stories, games and films I'm into) and keep them in my notepads. I wish I had someone to talk about these stuff with but legit no one cares ^_^'

Not much of a content here, sadly but, a content is still a content.

Did you know that there is a chair reactor in Henesys? Located exactly on the haystacks near the taxi area. To prove you I'm not on a Clear Chair, I daringly dropped it just to take this pic.

Did you know that the Maple Leaf Marble on the top of Guild Headquarter building is actually an NPC? I don't really remember what it's for but as far as I can recall, it was used in one of the Anniversary event where you exchange a Maple Earring for a better one or 10 cakes. can obtain a Maple Earring. Obviously clicking them in Royals does nothing.

I been in this game for the past 15 years and something I encountered during these 15 years, that made me laugh really hard was an item dropped by "Tino". You encounter these Tino's in Ereve (Cygnus Knight) and in the intro. However, they drop a "Tino's Feather". Now, if you would pick up this feather from the Intro/Tutorial and drop it in Henesys or a populated area and drop a fat stack of a mesos bag on the "Z" button that is hovering over the item, It would make your game crash if you tried picking up the mesos that is on the "Z" button, and it was so fun to make people disconnect.

Thought I'd share it. You could try it if you want. :), It should still work.

That's a very specific bug there, I'd give it a try on my own server soon and see if it works :p
