Ok so MapleRoyals is switching to v.83 and wiping the server clean in the near future. Which leaves zero incentive to keep playing the current v.62 game, not to mention the frustration that all our hard work leveling our characters will have been for nothing.

How about rewarding current players by giving the following equipment to existing players when the v.83 server goes live?

    [IMG] Royals Bandana Yellow
Given to existing players who reached 2nd job advancement (level 30)
    Job: Common
    Effects: STR +2, INT +2, DEX +2, LUK +2, Accuracy +2, Avoid +2

    [IMG] Royals Bandana Blue
Given to existing players who reached 3rd job advancement (level 70)
    Job: Common
    Effects: STR +3, INT +3, DEX +3, LUK +3, Accuracy +3, Avoid +3

    [IMG] Royals Bandana Red
Given to existing players who reached 4th job advancement (level 120)
    Job: Common
    Effects: STR +5, INT +5, DEX +5, LUK +5, Accuracy +5, Avoid +5

Each character can get only 1 bandana (e.g. if you have a level 140 char, you don't get a yellow and a blue and a red bandana, you just get one red bandana).

I feel that these hats are a nice enough reward to be desirable and will help you level in the new server when you start out with nothing. But they're not overpowering and will not change the game balance in any major way.

    Limit should be higher like,

    120+

    150+

    180+

    It's a 10x server, it took me 1 day to get 70.

Personally I think these items that give you an advantage over players are unfair, limited NX would be more attractive, or clean IGNs, or attractive things ect.

Clearly you never read the post saying that the v83 alpha test server does not mean we're planning a switch to v83...

You raise a valid point. However if you were to ask a level 200 player, he will say the reward should only be given out at extremely high levels. If you asked a level 80 player, he will say the top reward should be given out at level 80.

I feel the above strikes a balance and lines up neatly with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th job advancements. But of course it's just a suggestion, actual level breakdown will be up to the server administration should they wish to adopt this kind of reward.

Regarding you leveling up from 1 to 70 in a day... well, not everyone is as "Pro" as you. Not everyone has a high level bishop to leech from, etc. The typical person is more like this guy who just posted the following in the v.83 thread:

    http://royals.ms/forum/showpost.php?p=10533&postcount=115

"I've been on this server for a week now, and was greatly looking forward to my 3rd job change today. Now it seems like any progress I make will be erased, leading me to wonder why I should play."

Regarding giving out pretty looking limited NX items as reward, that's nice but only desirable if you happen to like the pretty looking NX item being given out. Some people won't. However the bandanas with stats will be desirable to everyone.

I think a +3 or +5 stat hat is very minimally unfair, given that you can hunt for 10 minutes at Chronos and find a +5 int Mage hat (if you're a magician for instance). Also, the official Maple did exactly that, they gave out "Delphinus bandanas" to people when they opened a new world in MapleSEA with (i think) +2, +3, and +4 stat bandanas. So something like this is not without precedent.

I like the idea of rewarding players who reached high levels, but I think the rewards should just be cosmetic. Maybe first crack at IGNs or something along those lines?

As I suggested on Skype, I would prefer a Ring or Medal instead. Hats are quickly replaced by godlyitems-job helmets or/and zhelms.

My suggestion for stats was this:
    3/3/3/3 (STR/DEX/INT/LUK), 100 HP & MP, 5/5/5/5 (accuracy, avoidability, speed, jump), 1 attack/2magic attack.

I suggest this item be for level 140+, while the lower stats ring/medal be:
1/1/1/1 (STR/DEX/INT/LUK), 50 HP & MP, 3/3/3/3 (accuracy, avoidability, speed, jump) and no attack or magic attack.

This ring for perhaps level 90+.

(Yes, I know that it's easy to level on a 10x server, but not everyone will have done so and therefore it's unfair to ask of them to be 170+ or similar. In my opinion, anyway.)

This is IF the server goes v83, of course.

Just for the sake of this idea.

I only became 113 in like 1 - 2 weeks because I spent time selling and talking to other people as well. So to put the first limit on 120+ is a bit high in my opinion. Also, lower level player could as well have good items since they spend time on trading and selling instead of leveling.
