I have my predictions about what y'all's favorite is... but a poll would be fun I think! Main entries only, and no handhelds Spoiler: mine I'd have to say Majora's Mask is my favorite, of the ones I've played. I have a different story than most, being that I didn't play Zelda as a child but rather I discovered it in my mid teen years and have only beaten TP, OoT, and MM between now and when I was 14 (currently working on Wind Waker, though not as diligently as I did OoT or MM). Picking a favorite is tough though, as I am equally fond of OoT and TP (TP being my first main-entry Zelda game ever, it carries a lot of nostalgic value). But I'd have to say, at the end of the day the reason I am partial to MM is that I love the atmosphere, and the difficulty. It's not all that dark to me, albeit a little at some parts, but that stuff wasn't really important. It just felt so fulfilling to beat it after spending several months working at it, getting stuck, overcoming obstacles I never thought I could overcome, beating the game my way, making it a very personal experience. I was committed to using no guides, though I did have to use one a few times, and I think the sheer difficulty of MM is what makes it stand out to me. I would love to replay all three of these, but my schedule is just so full I definitely won't have time for it But I love this franchise so much!! And I want to hear what y'a'l'l have to say about it, although I know most of you are going to go with OoT edit: some words
OoT by FAR! Still my number 1 game of all time. Most 'classic' & freedom feel of the whole series. Though to be honest, this is partly because it was the last Zelda I played from beginning to end without any 'cheating' (AKA using FAQs). Collecting everything in full. Especially finding all the Gold Sculltulas unaided was grueling, but so utterly satisfying when completed. By the time MM came out I had discovered GameFAQs and couldn't resist some 'help'. Looking back, the games that you figured out yourself remain more memorable, and were ultimately more enjoyable. I distinctly remember the feeling when I first drew the Master Sword. Or the laughs, when hearing that a friend had used the Giant's Knife, and of course broke it. Yes, I did spend far more than a reasonable amount of time on this game; but damn, it was fun!
Voted for Wind Waker. I was really stuck between this and A Link to the Past but I finally decided that I like WW better overall. I've spent way more hours playing OoT and ALttP but I have to give it to WW. I've recently played through ALttP, OoT, MM, and WW and WW just had the most enjoyable and smooth gameplay. I'd highly recommend A Link Between Worlds for the 3DS though! That one was a lot of fun. Also, this bassline! (Don't let the HD version fool you, this one is 10000% better)
Alttp and wind waker hands down. Oot next, then in no order most of the others. Edit: botw is up there, but its not really a zelda game like the rest.
I played wind waker, oot and mm. Between them I prefer wind waker the most, it's fascinating overall. Haven't played the others tho, but I'm tempted to play BoTW. Btw, add minish cap to the pool too.
Twilight Princess for me. The scene where you rush to save a lifeless Midna always gives me goosebumps.
