I got issues with sound effect(lvl up sound, skill sound, jump sound etc), BGM works perfectly fine.
I've tried mute and unmute in game option, patched sound.wz, uninstalled and re-installed, update sound driver, DirectX is also up to date, but still no sound effect, is there any way to fix this?

    OS: Windows 7

Have you tried running the program in compatability mode for Windows XP SP2 or similar? It was developed in an older time. This could be the issue.

That's a real wierd one. Unfortunately I have not studied how maplestory's sound effects work and can't really help you out. It can't be any stuck registry settings (just checked that) because the client saves its own settings internally.

Hi I had this similar problem. It was because I have a speaker set up that is 5.1 but I did not set up the speakers correctly (the sound was coming out of the speakers that weren't set up). Make sure you either pick stereo which only uses 2 speakers, or set up the wires for your speakers correctly.
