My goal is to run MR on my phone or tablet using steam link. Has anyone managed to do this? Here's what I've tried so far: - installed MR on Windows 10 machine, works fine - added to steam library as non-steam game - Launches on PC through steam no problem - Tried launching on phone via steam link. I get to the login screen but can't click or move the mouse and can't type anything. - Tried running steam as admin, but now consistently get error -2005530516 unknown error - Tried setting launch options to force 800x600 resolution, now getting error 11001: no such host is known Let me know if you found a combination of settings that works.
I've been able to use Parsec on my phone with a controller attached, maybe give that a go instead? You could also attach a keyboard and mouse!
If you have an Nvidia GPU you can try the Nvidia Game Stream function they have there. I've been using Moonlight-NX (Nintendo Switch homebrew) to stream Royals onto my Switch and play from there but since Moonlight was originally released to Android PlayStore I would believe it'll work too!
Thanks for the help, you two. I took a look at Parsec and Moonlight but since I don't have a controller, they were difficult to use (since they don't let you customize the touch interface to add keys like Z, CTRL, ALT, etc as far as I know). However, for anyone else who searches for this, I did manage to get it to work with steam link android. Here are the steps: - Run steam.exe in admin mode (by right clicking and choosing "run as administrator", not by checking the box in the compatibility settings- that will prevent steam link from accessing steam) - On your phone/tablet, start steam link and connect - Press B and Exit Big Picture Mode - Double click on your MR shortcut on the desktop - You should now be able to use your mouse and touch control buttons inside MR! You can press the Alt+Enter buttons to toggle fullscreen, which scales nicely on the phone screen (even though it stretches awfully on the PC screen) In order to add custom buttons for Z, CTRL, etc. you need to go back into big picture mode, go into the options, choose "Base Configurations" and "Desktop Configurations". Then add and customize the buttons as you would any other steam link game. Exit big picture and click back on the MR window When it's time to end the session, you need to exit MR, click the Big Picture Mode button on the steam window, and then press B and Stop Remote Play. It's all a bit of a hassle but I think this will be the best way to play remotely without a controller.
