Is it really that bad? Remember this is single target dps, isn't every attack you do potential to hit 4 targets? The real problem is BM >.>, trash aoe dmg, 26%~ dmg difference from other ranged attackers in single target. MM is literally subhuman I don't know enough about their aoe dmg so I might be wrong. Or maybe shads and buccs just need nerfs idk.
You can hit a max of 3 targets at once. The problem is the inconsistency with the damage, my lowest hit is ~60k and my max hit is ~150k. There's just huge variability and that makes your dps complete dogshit. It's actually impossible for me to join auf haven, toad, the boss, insert high level single target boss Shadowers have basically taken heroes roll at horntail, cause they can attack 4 units at once, albeit only on the right side, and completely out-dps on single target. It's just pretty dumb to see me hitting 55k 40k while the shadower hits 100k x3 I see your point on BMs but if you're asking who needs the buff more at the moment, it's definitely heroes lol. Atleast if you're a BM, you can actually get invited to parties. I literally had one guy join my party and leave after seeing i'm a hero. caulk.
Dang. This thread getting revived/necro’d?! Anyways, as a new player to royals who is not tracking the current capabilities and patches of each class (which automatically disqualified me from giving a serious opinion) I am going to give my thoughts and opinions. At least I am an old school veteran who has taken all the original classes to fourth job. Spoiler: Warrior * Dark knight: the all rounder of all rounders. Solid class, as expected if the popular trifecta classes. Competent at everything it does. Doesn’t die often due to hyper body. Weapons can be expensive due to popularity, but the rest of the gear is inexpensive. 3rd job is a breeze for the most part. May have some trouble at 110 to 120 but it still is easy with leech or EPQ. Washing for boosting berserk/DPS is in royals, which is an optional expenditure and not all that expensive. * Hero. The king of multitarget dps but generally Good at everything. They even have High single target damage. Swords are very popular and almost always in high supply. Also swords are one of the more affordable popular weapon choices at the end game. And, of course, the gods of CPQ1. Only part that kind of sucks is third job because you are using slash blast up to unlocking brandish in 4th job. * Paladin. The crash rework has made this class relevant. Cheap to fund and reaches damage cap quickly. Elements give a promising but committal progression path if you plan around it in third job. Great at endgame bosses, specifically long fights with lots of HP AKA horntail, due to crash but crash can add some value to bosses such as Krexel and Zakum. Once fully built, it is fairly flexible with heavens hammer and solid damage skills in advanced charge blow and blast. Spoiler: Magician * ice lightning. A good job but nerfed. A classic choice that is still popular, freezing abilities are very good and this mage is all about that. Lightning may be weak but it certainly is useful when it hits so many mobs. Thunderbolt and chain lightning are strong skills as they are. Has among the best second job progressions and is solid after thunderbolt begins doing some major damage. Solid while alone and especially in a party at cpq2 and bear wolves at LHC. Great leeching locations as well at petris, newties, and temple of time. * fire poison: easy to build. Possibly has the easiest time solo leveling up in third job, or at least cost effective due to poison fog/mist being able to deal damage over time on difficult mobs. A great pick at pirate party quest as well. 4th job has some great farming locations such as Petris, newties, and temple of time. * bishop: in royals where the meta is greatly effected by multi client and leech, it makes a lot of sense that this already popular trifecta class would become widespread. Genesis and holy symbol are amazing for farming whole maps of tough enemies and that is before all the great support buffs are added in. Heal, resurrection, bless, and magic door are in high demand. With the high demand for leech and in bossing, bishops greatly effect and fuel the economy in many ways just from maxing holy symbol in third job with additional benefits from unlocking genesis. Has a strong second job. may struggle a bit in third job with training areas being quite limited with PPQ, elderwraiths, and himes being popular choices. However, at 4th job, the sky is the limit. Spoiler: Bowman • bow master: great single target damage. Sharp eyes is amazing for everyone. The core of any serious bossing group. Of course, all archers are suboptimal at coq1 and 2 but has a good number of sniping areas to grind. May have one of the toughest or slowest leveling progressions currently until 4th job is unlocked. HP washing is expensive but the weapons and armor are plentiful and inexpensive. • crossbow master/Marksman: Great mobbing skill from piercing arrow. Bad at bossing but great at removing the trash. Bowmen may be trash at both cpqs but there are plenty of sniping spots for grinding. Has an amazing 3rd job as well. The weapon and armor is cheap but the HP washing is not. They shine at lion heart castle with their buffed piercing arrow and snipe gives some good damage off cooldown. Spoiler: Thief • night lord: mad consistent damage. slaves to sharp eyes. Very popular and solid class as expected of a trifecta class. Only out DPS’d by efficient corsairs. Very flashy and has the highest mobility. Extremely taxing to build with the combination of pots/rocks/star recharge price maintenance, the most expensive gear due to popular demand, and HP washing requirement for end game. Well designed class from the get go and very flexible. • shadower: Great utility class. Highest survivability in the game due to avoid-ability, meso guard, and smokescreen. Great damage from meso explosion as expected from old school. When bossing having multiple shadowers to stack smokescreen is a very effective strategy. Mid tier at most things, but if you spend money, you can level extremely quick as soon as you unlock meso explosion. Spoiler: Pirate • buccaneer. Invincibility frames abuse. Speed infusion is great for certain builds. Time leap synergies with certain skills very well such as smokescreen and echo of the hero. Good at cpq1. • Corsair. Takes skill to be aware and good enough ping to be quick enough to maximize ship efficiency. Boasts The highest dps, if they can keep their ship around to blast the baddies away. They demolish stationary targets who don’t pose a large threat to their main source of damage, most notably krexel. If their ship capabilities are taken away, they become second rate bowmasters. Screwed over by their damage formula on rapid fire. A very underrepresented class that requires knowledge and expertise to captain effectively. Guns may be dirt cheap but can be difficult to obtain at times. Not really a note able problem with gachapon dragon revolvers and plenty of concertos. However, HP washing is expensive. Also a solid choice for both CPQs. grinding at certain elementally weak mobs can be great.
Most fun classes This tier list is based on the most engaging or "fun" classes to play within current boss or mobs in Royals
MM>BM? why? Please tell me because I don't understand and how come NL is not fun, without flash jump and all that dps? >.<
I can't speak on their behalf, but I somewhat agree with that list for three reasons. 1: I like jobs with a bit more interactivity besides "hold button to attack". That's not to say bowmaster and NL isn't fun, I just personally like jobs with more than one major attack skill, like Marksman and Bucc. 2: Marksman may be somewhat weaker in terms of single target DPS, but they have decent supportive skills and mobbing skills, especially now when blind works on bosses. 3: I like to play what ever isn't "cliché". Marksman is rarely played compared to Bowmaster, hence, I like Marksman more by default. I/L mage rarely boss, therefore, I like to boss as an I/L. That's just a character trait I have for some reason. I'm like that in other online game also.
NL has many underrated skills that most people don't use but are pretty good actually. Ninja Storm allows you to push mobs from both side and also work at close range, and is better than the archer's alternative. You can also use it to farm weak mobs. Shadow Web allows you to hold mobs in place for 8 sec (longer than other stun/freeze skills) and together with ninja storm you can keep the shao clones away and solo Shaolin. NL is a lot more engaging in this boss than melee classes who just spam attack. Drain allows you to heal yourself and is really strong in things like mu lung dojo. Taunt is also pretty interesting and you can use it to help you with quests and card hunting (like in neo Tokyo, cwk) but doesn't work in LHC. Avenger is also not that bad and can deal decent damage with SE.
I will consider set DK at C over D, if you have a very good control on zerk, you can make a really good help at HT right/wings/c part hehe
Think with LHC it helped a lot of classes move up/down. Shads are pretty much the most versatile with NLs being LHC deadweight. Bucc is nearly S in my opinion with it being wanted in all content but lower on dps then NL/Shad. MMs are many times over better than BM in LHC but blind and hamstring are both great in Auf, BM hate is overrated. AMs are forever S tier as they can clear end game content (ulu farming) butt naked with a clean 130 EWand.
