Just waited the silly wait times for travel from Ellinia to Orbis with my friend to go get a new hairstyle. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a pair of very large, very angry flying creatures that destroyed us immediately upon landing. Very unhappy about this. We paid the 1,000 mesos each for the tickets. We waited the necessary wait time to board, and then travel. Now we're back at Ellinia after being destroyed by these creatures. So, what, are we just not allowed to go to Orbis? Are we not allowed to leave Maple Island? What's the deal here? And why should we be forced to go through this only to be killed and sent back to where we departed and just be out our time and in-game money? VERY irritated about this.
I don't understand. How does going inside the boat help me? I'll have to leave the boat anyway and then I'll be right back where I started: getting killed by these creatures and sent back to Ellinia, having lost 1,000 mesos. Or am I missing something??
Once you're inside the boat (the doors on the bottom), you can wait until the boat arrives to the destination. Once the time is up (10 minutes) you'll be automatically transported out of the ship safely.
Once the boat launches, you have a few minutes before anything spawns. You can go inside the boat (theres a door, no portal), and youre safe in there. When the boat gets to orbis you automatically get off the boat.
Why is there anything spawning to kill is, anyway?? That's kind of ridiculous is it not? A couple of newbie players just trying to get somewhere for some cosmetics, and they're slaughtered by these things simply for not knowing they're supposed to go inside the boat through a completely unmarked teleport? And now they're out their time and mesos, and just very irritated. I'm sorry, I just don't see how this makes sense at all.
The monsters are used in quests later in the game. Part of the 'wild west' of old Maple, where not a lot was explained and people just figured everything out on their own/from other players telling you.
Wait, so this was a thing back on old-school GMS as well? I never played to that extent on GMS, so I guess I missed the boat (pun intended) on this "feature." Well, either way, thanks for the information. I'll simply apply this to all other boat trips, as well.
i would dare to say this was THE thing on the earliest old gms.... Those days where u struggle to get enough mesos to buy pots and u spended 5k just to be killed by those, the fear, just to gather the money again-get inside the boat and be dumb enough(at least i was.....several times) to be curious to see them again... btw just orbis trip has balrogs, all the other boat trips are safe...
Vote everyday and buy APRs from the Cash Shop. Go to FM and sell them. That will make some good starter money.
