Hi, thank you! I used to run this boss daily on my Bucc, but it was 8 months ago. So it's a bit hard for me to give you an accurate answer. 1. Buccaneer can fill the ranged role, but you can't stay out of stun range like other ranged attackers since Demolition range is too short. 2. From what I remember Bodyguard B had pretty low touch damage (around 13k) and The Boss hit me for 18k+ 3. Barrage can cancel some boss animations, but if im not mistaken that was not for the whole duration of the skill. Never went with more than 1 Buccaneer in the party, but I don't think its possible to chain your Barrages in a way that the boss is knocked 100% of the time, it only takes 1 stun for this run to fail sometimes. I've seen other methods that let you not bring bishops at all and it includes putting the boss in the middle and attacking it from both sides, I saw someone streaming it (IGN Nabiki,NepNep etc.) but I have no personal experience with that. Hope some other people with more experience can answer you, because I don't think I can answer your question more accurately.
Wow that was fast So how did you do it? HSH chain and just demo with other ranged attackers or HSH Chain+juggling HB in and out and barrage+demo?
When i was level 17x I didn't have the HP even with HB so yea, HSH chain + demo only. At 19x I was washed enough to be melee and we juggled HB in and out which is easier than it sounds really. You benefit your party much more if you use barrage+demo since you pin it better than warriors and it can't really escape the corner. Also BGB's iFrames dont really affect you at all since you can cast barrage only when you are actually able to hit, if that makes sense.
Hmm do you think there is a point to play bucc after you get to 200? Not sure what bosses I can do anymore at this lvl o (maybe auf?), HT isn't really worth it anymore Also 1 advantage of bucc is that you can chat and attack at the same time lol, the barrage demo macro is slow and allows you to chat
Yes, I'm playing 4 attackers atm and I still find myself going back to my bucc, mainly for Neo Tokyo content (not only Auf) but also trio/quad HT. Also bucc is great for selling solo Shao/Scar/Targa leech which you might want to consider as an option.
As a player that played pre and post rework of Buccaneer, I will share some of my experience about the class with you and others. 1. Macros are great but I believe putting each of the 4th job skills individually is important and it makes the class stands out. With putting 4th job skills separately on your keyboard, you can control your character better such as timing your iframes for bosses (Example, Dojo last boss “Mu GonG”) or clearing mobs with Dragon Strike (Example, Zakum spawns) 2. I feel Barrage + Dragon Strike is optimal on multiple targets. If there are no melee attackers, Buccaneer can Barrage and Dragon strike the Zakum arms on the left side or wherever there are multiple targets. In addition, Buccaneer can burst the curse arm (Zakum arm 5) on the left side of Zakum with Demolition 3. For Horntail, I believe Barrage + Dragon Strike is a better combo than Snatch + Dragon Strike when there are no melee attackers and your bubble is charged on the right side of Horntail 4. Dunas can be attacked comfortably on the bottom with demolition as well 5. Auf Haven, Buccaneer acts as a control unit for the party. 1st form of Auf, Buccaneer will try their best with barrage to pin it in the middle (can demolition when it reaches middle) so attackers can maximize their damage. 2nd form of Auf Haven, Buccaneer will pin better with only barrage Anyway, let’s make Buccaneer great! That's a really good point and I don't know why I left that out since I do it myself in many situations, I'll make sure to mention that. Is there some math behind this or just a general feeling? because i used both macros in those situations and I get the opposite feeling, I hear about Snatch+DS being superior from other players aswell. Would love if you could share why. Thanks! some people already informed me about that spot being better and im already working on recording a new video! Definitely agree on that too, but I can mostly just keep it in the corner while getting the extra damage from DS too, that's just from my experience tho. Appreciate the input!

Thank you for all the information and Horace for clearing up the confusion! According to these 2 charts with and without SE, Barrage + Dragon Strike is stronger at 2 targets and Snatch + Dragon Strike is stronger at 3 + targets
Lets just say Demo+Barrage is 100% dmg output. 2 target DS + Barrage = 4% stronger 3 target DS+SNATCH = 23% stronger 4 target DS+SNATCH = 47% stronger 4th job skill changes Buccaneer (Barrage / Dragon Strike) We chose to make the combination of Barrage and Dragon Strike a more competitive DPS option as it was near the bottom of the DPS chart by boosting their base damage to be in line with the 130k and 250k DPS targets of our tests. lets just say bubble is up in these situation, i’m no bucc so \o/ idk how long it takes to get it ready. Please refer to the bottom comment and this spoiler below is inaccurate. Spoiler: Theory crafting If snatch can't hit 3 parts. (Leg + Wings + Arm) crash uptime 100% if both heads are cancelled, and patch 71 crash buff is applied This might be complete trash and wrong information so new buccs don’t follow this yet.
I heard that barrage and ds got buffed speed in some earlier patch, though I'm not sure what is the exact speed. It's a little faster than the original one though

Bucc HT test Patch #71? Will upload some gifs & video in maybe after i wake up. Important note ! Crash buff should always be applied to bucc. Start of Horntail. Dragon strike + snatch will be able to hit 3 parts (Red Polygons) when bubble is active When bubble is not active, rotate down to attack legs, Demo + barrage to recharge the bubble. When head A bends, you hit A too. ----- After Legs. Bucc using DS + Snatch will be able to hit 4 parts. Dragon Strike = 4 parts (wings, arms, head A , Head B) only when head A bends down | 3parts (wings arms and head B) when head A doesn't bend down. Snatch = 3 parts when Head A bends down. (Wings, arms and head A) | 2 parts (wings and arms) when A doesn't bends down. = Snatch hits Head B when head is moving up and down. Keep crash buff active on Bucc and 75% break dmg through weapon cancel. ----- After Tail Bucc will always hit x4 targets here. keeping crash buff active will allow the player to have maximum DPS. NL can rotate up and down between head C and wings to maintain 100% DPS. When Bubble is not active. Just go to the platform where the crash is and spam demolition on Wings. takes around 20seconds to get the bubble back that last 50seconds. ----- After Head C Bucc using DS + Snatch will be able to hit 4 parts just like before. Dragon Strike = 4 parts (wings, arms, head A , Head B) only when head A bends down | 3parts (wings arms and head B) when head A doesn't bend down. Snatch = 3 parts when Head A bends down. (Wings, arms and head A) | 2 parts (wings and arms) when A doesn't bends down. Snatch hits Head B when head is moving up and down. ----- After Head A Bucc continue using DS + Snatch will be able to hit 3 parts Dragon Strike = 3parts (wings arms and head B) Snatch = 2 parts (wings and arms). Snatch hits Head B when head is moving up and down. ---- After Head A is dead Bucc can Dragon strike + barrage wings & arm. that still does alittle more dps then Demo + Barrage. ---- After wings is dead. Just Demo + barrage and finish the boss. Well. I just completed like 2 HT runs to test it, but it was pretty efficient. Bucc pros please give it a try! @Al3x doesn't even drop much throughout the run especially at C side and was pretty damn cool.
