Currently, doing the daily HP quest nets to an average of 100 hp every 7 days. I would love a weekly option to be added that takes the combined amount of time as completing the HP quest daily for 7 days would (ie. somewhere around 2 hours?) that gives a 100 hp elixir. To minimize implementation effort, it could combine 7 of the existing item sets. If the player chooses and completes the weekly option, they will not be able to accept another quest from Ruel until 7 days after (at reset). Dialogue from Ruel could say something like needing to recover after having brewed such a potent elixir. If the player accepts the weekly option and forfeits it, they should be able to accept the daily option still, but their weekly option will remain on CD until 7 days later (as if they had completed it). The reason for having both daily/weekly options is to not punish players that do not have time to complete 7 daily quests currently (they may have time to do 4 in the span of a week but not necessarily 7 for example). Additionally, lowering the level requirement of the quest means that some of the item sets are more difficult for lower leveled players (such as the the World Tour one with Gold Monks), and currently those players can forfeit the quest and get a new (and likely easier) one the next day. Advantages: - Less travelling required daily (especially helpful for characters that you would have no reason to buy multi-day fast pass for besides to complete HP quest) - 100 hp at one time feels more rewarding than 10/20 hp daily - Promotes party play, higher chance that others will have some of the same item sets as you and you can farm the etcs as a party. - Good for players that cannot commit to doing HP quest daily, they might only be free one or few days a week. Disadvantages: - Less fast passes bought = less meso sink - Since there is more overlap in item sets, people could start selling HP quest service (would there be a market for this? I guess non-mage AOEs would shine... could make it so that only the person who whites the mob can see the etc drop but that does not promote party play)
Yes please! As a player who does this quest daily for a long time I would prefer to do all the quests in a on a 1 weekly quest instead of having to waste a lot of time traveling. Also I don't think the leeching aspect is real in this case.
I really support this idea! I'm sure there's a good population of the server, including myself, that have some commitments outside of the game on a daily basis (ie. work, school, family, etc.). These commitments make me prioritize what I can do in game on the weekdays and as someone who plays the game to interact with friends, I put bossing/party questing ahead of the hp quest (since it's an individual activity, unless you coincidentally have the same quest). The HP Quest was created as a way to bridge the gap between content locked behind an HP minimum and players that didn't HP wash. I don't understand why anyone would disagree to this change when it would only benefit those who have a busy schedule and it wouldn't punish anyone else. If you're voting no, I'd really appreciate your insight.
Well I'm on yes and no Yes on once a week quest for people that can't do it everyday, but I believe people that can do it everyday should be rewarded for it, more than those that do once/week (~60-70 hp potion instead of 100hp) Also, technically you don't have to do the quest every single day. You can do it every other day, just collect Monday's quest and do it on Tuesday. Once you finish Mondays quest, you can immediately accept Tuesdays quest and complete that too, or leave it for Wednesday (No, you can't complete Mondays quest on Wednesday and do both Tuesday and Wednesday quest as well, only Monday and Wednesdays would be available).
I see what you mean, however I don't feel like the HP amount should be reduced as people who are doing the HP quest every day likely are in a position where they could really use all of the HP (thus defeating the purpose of having the weekly option since most of these players would just continue to do it daily for higher HP gains). A compromise would be making the weekly option more difficult or time consuming than if you were to do the daily option 7 times, thus making the HP/time spent lower and still giving a "reward" to those who choose to do the quest daily. I imagine something like increasing the number of etc per item set for the weekly option would be easy enough to implement. As for your second point, I find that even with this strategy it's still a struggle for me to schedule it in around my other dailies. It's much simpler to just sacrifice a daily on one day to take the time to do HP quest rather than try to work around it every 2 days. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
am on yes and no aswell doing it daily encourages dedication, work and sacrafice some of your daily ingame or irl activitys (i wish this HP quest was actually a skill that lvl's up by doing this quest and add HP instead of a pot that adds straight +HP ,would have been "more rewarding feel" then just leech and wash route) i also doubt it will promote any party play if that 7day option is added because quest choice is random and finding appropriate match will be almost impossible i still think that cuting the time (reduce the ETC needed to finish this quest each day) to like 10-15min farming is much better fit for the current reward (avg of 13HP/day) to be considered "worthy" ofcourse the time inlcudes (FTT/vip rocks and being able to 1shot with mobing skills)
The guide I was looking at might be outdated with the latest additions to the item set collection, but it listed 8 unique sets. So a weekly option containing 7 of the 8 sets would mean everyone has a significant overlap in the etcs they need to collect. I agree there is more dedication involved in doing the quest daily vs weekly and would accept an increase in difficulty to the weekly option as appropriate, or as you suggested, decreasing the difficulty in doing it daily.
