    Fair enough, let's move on from the IGN (since it's a fake IGN anyway, although I'm curious whether it exists in game now...), instead, focusing on the guild portion.

    If reported, the IGNs will be changed and the account containing the IGN will be temporarily banned until changes have been made which is during every server check.

    For the bannable IGNs, it really depends on context

    Seeing that we are from the same area, it would be easier to use this Ban Appeal as an example

    As shown in the thread, the player was using several offensive words that are known in SG/MY areas

    If there are any other examples, you may approach a Staff for further clarification if is something that shouldn't be posted openly

    Well, as a Malay and a Muslim myself, I don't really understand how does the word "pig" is a sensitive thing to us. Unless you use it in insulting or provoking way or discussion about pig in religious manner, the word "pig" is totally fine with us.

    If I get offended about it, it's honestly my own fault for being such a dumbass. It's like a case in Malaysia where a fast food chain was forced to change the word "hotdog" because some dumb fuck thinks it will cause confusion the Malaysian Muslim community and refuses to hand them the halal certificate until they came up with better name, which is honestly pretty damn stupid. It's just funny that those people who have problem with pigs has no problem at all on drinking, doing drugs, taking bribes or anything else...

    But that's just me and I'm sorry if I'm derailing the thread a bit orz

    Also didn't realize you are a Malay (edit: I could have confirmed Malay words/matters with you)

    Although I can post detailed explanation such as my thought process about the word, I don't intend to continue as Kai is more concerned about the removal of 'NotStaff'
    I can explain my thought process to you in DM if you wish to know why I requested Kai to remove the 'Babi'

    I do agree it's kinda silly about the 'hotdog' matter, but at least they gotten the sausage name

    Babi word come to offensive for muslim only when you calling someone babi such as : you’re such a babi, etc

    But babi pure meaning in bahasa malayu (Malay Language) is pig, while kai put it as babikambing, purely mean it as pig&goat as he didnt call anyone else babi so I cant really find it how offensive it is.

    it is something same goes to dog, monkey

    when you didnt call someone dog, monkey. This is just a normal word.

    FYI if you were to say to me “... you are a Chinese” I would be a bit offended. It’s inherently labelling someone to a certain ethnicity as if they were an item rather than acknowledging this is part of their identity.

    The forum profile fields shown next to posts are there for users to represent themselves, and act as a quick way for other users to know a bit about who you are. They are not intended to be used for trolling or purposely misrepresenting yourself, so I don't see it being unreasonable for a user to have a particular field changed. This of course extends to any user and any guild, so if there are users that seem to be intentionally misrepresenting themselves as part of your guild, or there is impersonation of another user, you are free to report this, or message a forum mod or other staff member to have it looked into and removed.

    To clarify, I was expressing shock about @Inugami being a Malay as it's rare for me to encounter Malay players in MapleSEA

    I do interact with him to a certain extent, and I apologize if my comment of "Also didn't realize you are a Malay" offended Inugami or anyone else

    I would like to clarify that my shock is not about him being a Malay like I am expecting him to be Chinese or any other race

    Is more like I could have confirmed with him the usage of 'Babi' in IGN or daily conversation via DM before proceeding with advising Kai regarding the IGN

    I am sorry if my careless statement offended Inugami or any other Malays, and I will take this chance to reflect on my words, and perhaps give it a deeper consideration in the future before posting my reply on the forum

    I hope no one will see this as a Staff member being racist to a player as it is not my intention to do so

    Apologies but I do have to ask, how many malays actually play this server? From my experience, I have only met 1 malaysian-malay player in royals and out of respect for that person I shall not be naming his/her ign. :) As a malaysian, I can strongly agree when I say that a mass majority of the malay community are playing other games. I understand 'Babi' is definitely an offensive word for the Malay community, however depending on how you use the word in a context will define itself as profane or not.

    That is obviously not a reasonable request. However, like I've already mentioned, users can report others if they feel somebody is misrepresenting themselves as part of their guild or impersonating as somebody they are not for it to be looked into and removed. And, if users continue to do so after the fields being removed, we will of course look into issuing infractions, as it's just childish behaviour and trolling at that point.

    Don't think there's anything else that needs answering here, so locking this thread.
