I was reading a Ban Appeal, and the GM requested "we will need any evidence of your scrolling as you have mentioned that you have self scrolled these items" as well as "Please provide us with the full IGNs and/or forum names of the players that you have mentioned".

I appreciate the hard work that the GMs put into maintaining the community. But what are these unspoken rules and requirements? Is this stated anywhere in the Terms and Condition? Who even does these things?!

Disclaimer: I am not trying to influence a ban appeal decision, just genuinely trying to understand.

Trusting the process blindly is foolish and there are still many things that could be improved on when we handle ban appeals but I would like to assure you that we have no interest in banning players who don't break our game terms and conditions! The appeal alongside the questions and screenshots we ask for are tools we have in place to give the player a chance to defend themselves against our decision to ban them, a decision we make after hours of investigation.

The ban appeals can be informative and entertaining to read but it's important to remember that there are a lot of things you don't get to see as a player, including the evidence that prompted us to take action in the first place.

Hopefully, this helps to eliminate some of the concerns you might have on this topic, happy mapeling! :)

Makes a lot of sense and it was incredibly helpful. Really appreciate you taking your time to respond :D

Yes, it is indeed my oversight - wasn't aware of the things that happen behind the scenes. Good luck with everything!:tobenawoo:

Whilst most bans are placed appropriately remember that staff are human and therefore can make mistakes on the odd occasion. Take silv’s ban appeal as an example of how inadvertent bans based on association can occur:

In general I would always recommend taking screenshots of transactions that involve more than 2b especially if these are made frequently. In addition it is generally advised to take screenshots or video recordings of scrolling godly items that involve chaos/white scrolls where the value of the item involved is more than 2b. Whilst trade logs do exist it generally helps appealers when they can provide their own records of transactions which take place to back up their claim.

If you or anyone else has been banned then subsequently unbanned due to an incorrect ban it is also recommended that you request for compensation in the Character Issues subforum. There is no blanket rule for this currently and it is handled on a case by case basis, however consider this an unspoken rule that’s not specified in the terms and conditions as well.
