Hi, I'm a Quest Addict and sort of a completionist, so I was supposed to finish this Quest in order to get the 1000/1000 needed for Quest Virtuoso. But guess what? I already got the medal without finishing the quest for the Diary of the Goddess, and the reason for that is that the drop rate for the only page I am missing which is Page 3, is so absurdly low that I have succesfully completed Orbis PQ 22 times and I have gotten every drop from every other Page but not Page 3. AND I am not even counting failed runs where we do Room of Darkness before restarting. I have also found people who are also missing this rare page and they also have every other page, in contrast the drop rate for other pages is so high you can spare them to the other players but Page 3 is amongst the rarest drops regarding Quest Items in the game and the fact many people are also looking for this Page also doesn't really help because that means we have to battle to death over who gets it first while the others cry in desperation. I think this is unfair for the average completionist since it is just easier to get rid of the pages and forfeit the quest to free your Etc. space, which is a whopping 9 pages. I don't want to do that because I'm a Quest Completionist and I feel a must to finish this quest. This absurdly low drop rate made sense way back in GMS before Big Bang because the EXP rate was so low you would have to grind in OPQ hundreds of times so it would be likely that you could get the Page 3 back then and still not hit the Level Limit for OPQ. But here this low drop rate doesn't make any sense because you just level up fairly fast and then you can go to PPQ or RJPQ where they have better exp/hr ratios or you can simply grind somewhere else to get better exp and forget about the quest. I mean it is also hard to find people to OPQ in the first place so I raised my HB Mule to Lv51 so I could bring him and reduce player requirement to get in the PQ without waiting all the day for that missing extra player. The totals of page I have (minus the pages I gifted to other players who needed them) are: Page 1: 4 copies Page 2: 2 copies (gave away 1 or 2 iirc) Page 3: NONE Page 4: 3 copies Page 5: 5 copies Page 6: 3 copies Page 7: 6 copies Page 8: 4 copies Page 9: 4 copies Page 10: 4 copies Please consider the above stated and help us quest completionists by increasing the drop rate of the Page 3 to a more reasonable drop rate so we can actually finish the quest without fighting other quests completionists to death who may as well be looking for this rare page. As you can see in the screenshot I have 3 extra pages from Page 8, 9, 10 and even more pages of the most common pages which are 5 and 7. I can almost give the whole party lots of pages besides Page 3 which is nowhere to be found. Last 5 messages of party log show other 2 users looking for Page 3 just like me as well. BTW, the Room of Darkness (where you kill the Jr. Thingies to get the pages) is an OPTIONAL part of the PQ and therefore you don't need to do it to complete the PQ. When you are looking for the pages, either you have to tell the leader to do this room or do the room yourself if you're leading. There is a limited bunch of monsters and sometimes they won't even drop any page but that's quite rare to happen, yet it does happen.
After checking my mule, I have several of each page except for precisely the Page 3. I would also like to see the drop rate adjusted, there's no real reason for it to be this difficult. Then again, I suppose there's no real reason to make it easier either, à la arwen's shoe/blackbull's deed.
But there are actually MANY reasons why would you want the drop rate increased for Page 3. First, is not only one Etc´. item, they all are 10 etc items and they take up plenty of space from you etc. You don't simply tell me to dispose of the other 9 more common pages. I'd have to collect them up again. If you got the Pixie Card and done with business with Orbis PQ then there is no reason to keep doing the PQ. As a result of this there aren't many people available to do OPQ with. In contrast with the glass shoe, you can try farming it yourself as the only requirement to get the glass shoe is you having enough atk and accuracy to kill the fire boars (easy). But the requirement for OPQ is far harder than this as you need yourself and other 5 party members 51+ so you can enter in the first place. This only adds to the list of why Page 3 is even more difficult to get than in it should be. I even leveled up my HB Mule to 51+ so I could have an easier time gathering the number of people, and some of the people who also OPQ (regardless of their reason for doing the PQ), also have OPQ mules because come on, everybody else is either buying leech somewhere else or grinding at better places to get better exp and drops. Second. Not only the low drop rate is the problem, but once it drops, you gotta get it first before everyone else. This should not be the case as it's a Party Quest and everyone is supposed to collaborate to complete the PQ. There is no reason either for a Player to give you Page 3 unless he doesn't know what's he's doing or unless he has a spare page, which is really rare. You can't simply compare Glass Shoe to Page 3. And even the worst of all, you can find Glass Shoe in FM and just buy the other rare etcs which are quite expensive but nothing from 1-2hr selling leech. Even by such low drop standards its way easier to get any other quest item (buy at FM) than Page 3. AFAIK I've never seen Page 3, which also qualifies as a rare valuable item, I guess people don't notice it's really valuable and rare and some of them may simply dispose it. This should not be the case.
Fair enough, you make some very valid points (besides the space argument, which is easily solvable, no one is telling you to drop them.) Perhaps I should have re-read your thread before giving the second half of my statement in my previous reply, so apologies for making you reiterate your points. At any rate, I still support increasing the drop rate (or at least making it uniform across pages) and I'm glad you made this thread.
