Link The problem: multiple trades mean multiple taxes, making it a little difficult to calculate splits for the seller and splitter to receive the same amount of mesos. - The seller loses 3% of their original sale price through taxes - The splitters lose 3% when the seller trades them their split - If the seller splits the original sale price (before tax), the splitters receive more mesos than the seller - If the seller splits the mesos they receive after tax, the seller receives more mesos than the splitters I have made a spreadsheet that calculates the mesos that the seller must pay to each splitter in order for everyone to end up with the same amount of mesos. All the spreadsheet formulas are locked but anyone can edit the yellow cells. Or you can just make a copy of it for your own personal use. Example 1: a 5-way split of a shop sale for 1.6b Example 2: a 5-way split of a trade sale for 1b coin + 600m mesos: As you can see in blue, the seller and the splitters receive the exact same amount of mesos! If anyone has any feedback, I would love to hear it!
I always figured it’s common courtesy for the seller to not lose on double tax. They’re taking the time and shop space to sell and track down everyone to pay out splits. I think this is different if you’re splitting like a 60/13 DPS or something.
Yea I agree that for their troubles, the seller should get a little more than the splitters and I personally don't mind getting fewer meso than the seller. In the end, it depends on the party members. If they don't mind the seller splitting what they make after tax, then by all means go with that easy route. But I know of some people that don't agree and would prefer equal splits, especially for more expensive items where a larger amount of meso is lost by taxes. This calculator is meant for them.
