Not putting a wall of text but to the point: add and extra files in .rar formate in the download. Sometimes the antivirus just deletes it and you need to reinstall all again to get that launcher, would be nice to have an extra one in .rar to just extract it if anything happens to the original and also this way people will have their antivirus off for a shorter period of time while excluding it.
Doesn't the antivirus just quarantine the file, can't you just go to the antivirus and unquarantine the specific .exe file. At least that's what I do with Windows defender. But I made things easier since I just download everything to a folder that is excluded from the antivirus.
I'd rather use 7zip for handling zip archives as it can have slightly better to noticeably better compression ratio than Winrar. Also 7zip is free and fuck Winrar. EDIT:
It does but not everybody knows how to do it, it took me a few hours to figure out how to exclude it and to be complete honest I had to reinstall royals like 4-5 times before being able to play because im not that skillfull on a computer to extract a file in quarantine. I'm just saying this because an irl friend was having the same issue yesterday and spent like 2 hours trying to figure how to play before telling me he was trying another server because this "doesn't work on his computer" and yes, I know there are some guides on how to do, but most players don't use forum and sometimes it's a bit hard to navigate on this being a non-english speaker.
I think the client launcher being nuked is the most common troubleshooting issue, and it's more than likely a default action by any given antivirus (especially Windows Defender). I believe this is something to be more upfront about, since it probably happens to the (vast) majority of Windows users. Like right above the download links, there could be a notice about the antivirus removing the launcher, and how you can set quick exceptions to prevent this (with a highlighted link to a guide for this**). This could very well save the headache of brand new users coming from GTop trying to find out where their launcher is. To add, there is a message that links to a troubleshooting guide already on the Download page, however the solutions are not only nested but repeatedly state "Please disable or add an exception in your anti-virus software and try again." ... when this can be addressed up front on the Download page. Just my opinion, anyway.
