Quest Mr. Do's Marble exchange could be improved

    Howdy y'all,

    So me and my boy UncusBunkus are grinding the mu lung quests and I rediscovered a feature I vaguely remember using in gms - The MuLung exchange quest. In this exchange quest, you can exchange 100 ect item from monsters around herb town and mu lung for a bunch of marbles - Once you collect one hundred marbles, you can exchange the marbles and some ore for 100% scrolls with a very rare chance of a 60% scroll, whoopeeee!

    Now the amount of marbles you obtain varies depending on difficulty of enemies - But because of the 100% scroll prize for a tedious amount of collecting, this exchange quest is practically worthless. (Especially considering an increased meso and item drop rate makes affording 100% scrolls from npc vendors a non-issue).

    So what? Well, I want to make this exchange quest not useless and I feel like It could have some niche potential if we gave it a closer look. I have several ideas on how we could make the exchange more interesting and interactive.

    This idea aims to replicate the Orbis Exchanges' use.

    This idea could work with either an entire removal of the marbles or with the marbles still intact, but I prefer it as so -
    Collecting 100 ect items grants a small amount of exp, much like orbis ect. With the exchange, you will obtain common potion items and perhaps specialized medicines from Mr. Do's book, for example, 100 peach monkey ect could give you peach juice.

    To give it more incentive over orbis exchange (teeth are hard to beat), you could have the marbles tradeable and allow them to be a rare item obtainable from exchanging ect items. The marbles could be used almost like a Mu Lung gachapon where exchanging them to Mr. Do could grant anything from more random consumables, to scrolls, to chairs, whatever.

    In this scenario, you could just leave the exchange quest how it is but change it from 100% scrolls to 60%. This gives the quest a little bit of fun incentive for underfunded or ironman players. Probably remove the ore requirement and adjust marbles provided per ect.

    Like the idea I mention above, perhaps the marbles can be traded for random prizes, varying from consumables, to Mu Lung specific potions, to random items. This would require less marbles be provided per ect.

    Anyways, as of now this exchange quest is practically worthless and it'd be neat to see some innovation and work done on it to fix it up to Royals speed. If anybody has any suggestions on what they think would be a cool idea please post it here. Kung fu panda land needs to be better.

    I just discovered this yesterday while I was farming cards in Mu Lung. Thought it was really cool, at first, but quickly realized it was a complete waste of time.

    So, I cast my vote Yes!, please improve this feature.

    I'm happy you made this thread (this is actually something I wanted to talk about for the longest time!) I read another thread (Link) a long while ago advocating for a similar thing, but I was sad it didn't gain traction. I think it makes sense thematically to add in belt scrolls to the mix, at least the 100% variety.

    I'd also like to add that Mr. Do's medicines could use a boost. I've always had the desire to play in a semi-ironman fashion, and one thing I would've liked to see is "crafting" my own useful boosting items. Unfortunately that's a tough balancing act considering how many consumables exist that boost stats, but I think it can be done and Mr. Do is perfect for it. There was a recent discussion about making defense more useful, so perhaps there's room for that in this area (defense boosting potions, other than sunblock.)

    I am not a fan of EXP gain from exchange.

    I'd be super down, I /mostly/ would love to see a mini-mulung gacha system with the marbles, maybe more marbles for a higher chance of a better prize? The exp exchange isn't a hill I plan on dying since it makes me sad that people just use teeth instead of kpq or something else i'd like to see grow in popularity, but I know it's a popular thing on the server.
