Event Valentines Boss Event

Event Starts: Monday February 2nd at midnight server time
Event Ends: Monday March 5th at midnight server time

We have a new event boss for you - Lovestruck King Slime! He'll be spawning once every 4 hours in Amoria on channel 1 only and he loves Maplers so much that if you join in and help kill him, he'll give you a Romantic Present, which you can hand in to Cody to get a random reward. As with the Snowman boss, you can only hit 10 damage on him per hit and will need to use basic attack on him; however, unlike the Snowman, Lovestruck King Slime can be killed without the use of any special mittens or ammunition.



To help you get to Amoria and back easily, Gaga will be in both the FM Entrance and Amoria to warp you. Please do make sure you have your game .wz files up to date, as Lovestruck King Slime, the Romantic Present and Gaga were all added in the January 18th patch. If you updated your files then, you'll be fine. If not, go here to download the relevant files:

You can get a Romantic Present from Lovestruck King Slime at any level, as long as you do damage to him, but you will need to be level 30 or higher to hand your present into Cody for a random reward.

As for what the rewards are.... well, we'll leave that as a surprise for the most part, but this is THE big prize:


It's pretty rare, but for comparison, nowhere near as rare as the Red Sock was in the Snowman event. It's closer to the Baby Jack frost and Phantom chairs from that event in terms of rarity. The ring will stack with both the Almighty Ring and the pre-wipe ring - just pull it into a free ring slot. The many other possible rewards are a mixture of fun and useful items, and you'll be pleased to know that we didn't give into the temptation to troll you by including Speed Pills on the grounds that they're heart-shaped! Do make sure to have a free slot in all of your inventory tabs when handing your Romantic Present in to Cody, as the possible rewards span all 5 categories.

As of the SC on Saturday, Feb 7th:
We have made a few changes to the Lovestruck King Slime event which is as follows:

• Players will be able to obtain the 2 Carat Lovebirds Wedding Ring if they participate in killing 30 Lovestruck King Slimes. Cody can tell you how many you have helped kill. This does not include previous kills before this was implemented. The ring is still obtainable via a Romatic Present.
• Fixed an issue which meant that players were able to obtain more than one Romantic Present.
• Only players level 30 and over can obtain a Romantic Present and exchange it.

Anyone liked to disclose how much HP this boss has?

 

One small apology I'd like to make - when searching for goodies to use as boss drops, I really wanted to find something that said "Single And Happy That Way" (or words to that effect) for those who aren't into relationships, but sadly, the nearest I could find was a "Forever Single" medal, which isn't a whole lot of use in v62!

These events are great in theory, but haven't we learned that they're a terrible idea by now?

 

500,000. Player damage capped to 10.

 

So 50k hits to kill..
Let's say 50 people are there at once: 1000 hits to kill... = ~16 minutes
Let's say 100 people are there at once: 500 hits to kill... = ~8 minutes
Let's say 200 people are there at once: 250 hits to kill... = ~4 minutes
not bad right?

 

Yeah it doesn't take long at all.

 

Hits are capped at 10 so this is a correct estimate.
