Hello, I was wondering if, maybe, it would be a good idea to have king slime hand out tickets after it dies, instead of the rpesent boxes? And have players exchange a set amount of tickets (which would be untradeable) for a reward of their choice (i.e. the ring, chairs, ...). That way the rewards a player get would be based on their amount of participation in the event, rather than luck. I don't know if this would be a good idea or not, just looking for feedback
I prefer luck, too time consuming to be there every slime run to try to get the tickets for the best items.
I think a better solution would be a mixture of luck & commitment (In regards to the ring, at least), similar to what we did with the rudolph nose event, if you don't get the item after X tries, you are guaranteed to get it.
While we're on suggestions for the slime event, a timer on the front page would be nice, similar to the counters for the cake/snowman events.
I think randomness makes things much more exciting. It is no longer a linear path to becoming godly when there are variables along the road.
I'll counter that point with the personal opinion that having a discreet goal is more fun to chase than playing random odds for a month hoping you get the item you want before the event ends... my point being is that different people enjoy different things. Why not have both options?
I thought of a suggestion! Once you get an item once already, make it a 30% chance to get it again, where the chance starting out was 100% of the chance*. So that people stop getting so much of one item and have a chance to get all of the possibilities! * if This is confusing, I mean that let's say there's 10 items, so you got a 10% chance of getting each one, let's say I get the chocolate, then next times, I'll only have a 3% chance of getting the chocolate again instead of 10%, and everything else has its chance boosted proportionaly.
I would like to add that I don't think you should beable to get multiple untradable nx items on one character. I just got my second coin sword on my bishop.
I would suggest to extend the event by 2 days due to recent fixes and rollbacks (or reduce the kill counts for a guaranteed ring to 25) due to February only having 28 days instead of the normal 30/31.
The event started February 2nd and lost a couple of days due to patching exploits and what not. Even without the kill count rollbacks, it doesn't take into account February being shorter. Are you implying the two extra days (from 26-28) is the compensation?
We didnt actually lose any days due to patching anything. The server was up and online, the only time it was affected was when the kill counter reset after one day of slime kills. A quick 10 minute SC here and there doesn't affect it that much. You only need 30 kills to get it guaranteed, since it spawns every 4 hours and there's still 19 days left (It runs to the 2nd of March), that's 114 times it'll spawn. We had a few hours of downtime tonight, and each time we've had an SC this week we did it directly after the slime had been killed, so the timer was barely affected. I'll see what the other staff think, but I dont think there's much need for compensation. The 30 kills option is to reward dedication for those who may not be very lucky with RNG.
