THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE https://royals.ms/forum/threads/mapleroyals-halloween-costume-contest-2021.196848/ AHAHA! Only me feel people begging likes so funny? Well I think the category about the ppl's choice shouldn't be decided by likes For ex : I can't have many girlfriends at the same time. Each person should only can pick one from all post, I rem last time ask us to comment our vote https://royals.ms/forum/threads/vot...-decoratings-peoples-choice-tree-2019.149991/ something like this 3qq
I have no hates but tbh.. asking for people to like it's like salespersons hard selling and giving people pressure to purchase something. OoO People's choice should be chosen by their own preference and not based on likes ʘ ᳕ ʘ Yes, likes can be seen as one aspect for people's choice but, you never know if those likes are genuinely their choice or being supportive or otherwise... I'm not throwing shades just... LOL it's like literally those real-life competition being rigged wuuwuu.. (︶︹︺) To keep the people's choice category fair and square, I think 2019's Christmas people choices is the best way to decide the winner hehe ヽ(o^▽^o)ノ
to be honest, i seriously doubt changing it to the way it was would be any different to the way it is now, just more tedious for people that's trying to win in that category (but you know the lengths people are willing to go just to secure the win) and more unnecessary work for staff hosting the event. PRETTY SURE people would still find ways to get more votes. imo, the people's choice category is flawed in the sense that the winners are decided based off their in-game reputation, popularity, connections, blah blah blah, and not based off their submission. Probably better to just scrape the people's choice category and add a new one, just my two cents.
To everyone who misunderstood our intentions.. We politely asked people to view and like our post.. (did not beg) We did not force anyone to like them, if you dont like the post, we understand completely and did not push anyone to like them.. (Even close friends) If anyone is unhappy with liking our post just unlike it P.S. If i bothered anyone , I am very sorry to have disturbed your stay in MapleRoyals Good day to all and Happy Mapling (Edit) : I am not defending anything or anyone or even myself I just want the public to know what my thoughts are in case there is any misunderstanding - Xueli / FarkinChio
im very curious to know whether anyone wld hv brought this up if it was only 1 submission getting an abnormal amt of likes rather than 2
Probably not. The way I see it is that since the contest started, one side had significantly more likes than the other and when they noticed the other team starting to catch up to them, they started calling them out in smegas and threads. I don't think asking people for a like once is begging. It's their choice and they're not being forced or spammed to do it. Plus, in a category that is based solely on likes, I don't see how it matters how the likes are achieved (As long as it's not through an illegal/annoying way). IMO it's a good thing that the category is being removed from the next event since it's basically a matter of who has more friends/guildmates/allies/whatever, and should be replaced with something that does include the community's vote, but which somehow avoids this kind of situation.
Imagine having drama over a contest where you win pixels in a pixel game. Who in their right mind would do such a thing amirite? Oh. wait
Thank you for the decision! Let’s just be real, this “People’s choice” category has created quite some unnecessary pixel competition among communities and negative perception towards players which lead to misunderstanding / negative image of player. Worst is this category itself discourage many players, especially new players not to participate in forum events because of the likes.. Let’s give @Doo a shoutout and respect for voicing out this issue kewk ⊂(♡⌂♡)⊃ and looking forward to new category!!
That would be the on-paper definition of it, but it is the same as asking. Usually, the word is used to describe a very strong (even emotional) and urgent request (which could've been said if they spammed someone asking for the like, practically begging). There's a bit of a difference between asking politely and plain begging.
No shade, to each their own with what they want and how they go about achieving it, I'm over here just tryna cash in on these juicy forum likes.
