I don’t remember seeing someone bring up why allowing pots in DS would be bad. I’m not against auto pot working in DS obviously, but I would be very happy with the ability to at least not die when I get 1/1’d and stunned in DS. Ultimately, reverting the change would work as well, but I do think allowing pots would be fine. Bosses still have magic attacks so its not like people could sit in DS with pots and survive bosses. I can’t think of any potential downsides to just allowing pots in DS.
I think it's not you that's following; People made the claim that Meso Guard 1/1 should be reversed as a change because it had no impact on the seduce mule meta, and has proven to be an unnecessary change. Your discussion wants us to be able to pot in darksite because of the change we are asking to revert. Obviously, even by Becca's account, this was an unforeseen consequence of the meso guard change and requires additional resources to accommodate, everyone has acknowledged the problem, but we differ on how they should react to it. I'm not going to re-read the entire thread but I feel majority would rather just ask the change to be reverted rather than trying to accommodate an interaction that didn't exist before; potion/darksite, which as I have said could lead to more problems from that interaction. That isn't to say that we are against that change, but rather why continue down a path that requires potentially more adjustments when the end result is the same. Revert the change, or accommodate the potion problem, which Becca has already said is being discussed.
i dont know what the Staff tought to themselves all what i loved is Shad runs in HT and since 1-1 i died in Shad HT 4 times everyone who dont play shad and never did shad HT will never know how annoying it is when u get 1-1 really annoying i really hope the staff will think about it cause in my opinion and other shads opinion its really really annoying i never died in HT before for real even who knows me know i like to guide new shads but i cant even HT my self thats extremley Annoying
From https://royals.ms/forum/threads/gm-blog-november-2021.198101/ Recent Game Changes After much internal discussion, revolving around whether or not past changes have solved the problems they were designed to solve, we have decided to revert the change to Chief Bandit's Meso Guard. Although it had an impact on gameplay which was not far from what we imagined prior to the change, the bigger picture remained "unchanged". Not only that, but many valid questions were raised concerning why the change was made, and whether or not we were applying the logic behind the change fairly across the board. We leave the details of these arguments for the reader to discover - they can be found in the numerous feedback threads made following the change. Suffice to say, the steps we would have to take to maintain consistency would be numerous, and ultimately we don't expect that the outcome would be worth it. As such, Meso Guard's behaviour will return to its vanilla state post-Update 75. Due to the above, will be shifting this thread to [Accepted] If any Shadowers feel the issue was not solved entirely, please ping me here with the reasoning so that I may forward the concerns to the Staff team for further review
@Dave Deviluke see the concerns i've raised in a separate feedback thread: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/allow-potion-use-during-dark-sight.197963/ tl;dr shadowers without superb damage are still screwed against ephenia and potentially bosses that 2-shot. either allow pot use in DS (and change HT sed mechanics to prevent cheesing of tail touch) or change assassinate to not require DS, which also makes shadowers suffer less from high ping. latter preferred
Have forwarded your concerns of [Dark Sight] game mechanics to the Staff team For other Shadowers that share the same concerns, please do provide comments on the linked thread so that the Staff team can review all of the opinions
