    its not a hacker thread. you're thinking smalltime. in the perfect world where there are no hackers, rwt, the server is flourishing with a growing player base annually, you will have this same topic, discussion, and thread, because of map limitations. i dont see why everyone is derailing this point. at some point, there will have to be a limit on clients running, otherwise it will be a problem. i dont care how dedicated you are, if you're making the game harder or problematic for people, there should be some restrictions, rather than none.

    thats literally all I'm saying

    When you ask people who took the time to lvl, use and profit off of the multi client abuse, of course they aren't going to want to change it. There's a reason MC wasn't allowed in GMS, it promotes unhealthy behavior. And yes I understand hackers are unhealthy to the server as well.

    And I agree MC should be nerfed at some point. What I am saying is IT IS NOT NOW TO BE DONE. Please READ whatever I say about this.

    I don't care how undedicated you are, but dedicated people should have lot more to say about the game because they probably know much more about the current status quo.

    I don't see any reason to discuss circumstances under a perfect world. The game is FAR from being free of hackers/rwters/vote abusers. Why adjust the game and let the server bleed of its legitimate players for months or even years before something makes sense out of it?
    I think most of the opposition is more specifically against the restrictions being implemented anytime SOON. IMO this shouldn't even be a topic of discussion yet. There's much more to worry about and take care of before all of this.
    The same problem occurred with the meso guard change. The change was supposedly intended for future content with no compensation for shadower mains. It took months before it was reverted back but not before pissing off the shadower community :confused:.

    what's the harm in discussing it now though. matt considered it valid to open. we all know how much TTT here (things. take. time.) its harmless to discuss.

    do you really think this would be implemented any time soon? this is also a game. those shads can come back if they want. if adults playing a 20 year old game can't fathom the idea of small progressive tweaks/reverts for an ever changing meta, i mean... what would you tell them? if we want nothing to change, close the feedback thread. some things should still be nerfed IMO, many things are worthy of being reconsidered, and should. that's ok. its a discussion about a possibility of a change in a game that likely wouldn't happen any time soon.

    how many people do you think run over 6 alts at once? are they a majority of players? or are there like, less than 30?

    and the fact that this topic is being opened by matt at all is a healthy initiative. if everyone wants to talk about hacking and other avenues of making fake money so much, blast those threads.

    every single thread can be shut down by saying "ok wheres autoban first though". if those who say you're on board with limitations, then go ahead and discuss them, instead of tell me im dangerous for trying to start the convo you say you agree with.

    i conceded and said three max clients a few pages ago, but I'll again concede with a nice round full party of six. sorry to the guy who does the cactus thing in the FM.

    I never used multi-client for those purposes.

    I still dont want it to be changed now.

    I'd be up for it if they changed it after they fixed more important issues though.

    Yes, it is harmless to discuss, but it is also harmless to discuss its possible consequences. MC is not just an isolated issue and is tied heavily with other aspects of the game.

    It is kinda obvious that Matt and other staff members seem to underlook more serious issues that Royals currently have. They have made some serious mistakes in the last few patches, and we don't want them to make another one.

    it certainly is harmless, not dangerous. but there's no consequences to talk about because nobody has entertained any scenario except single client gameplay, which will not happen, i can guarantee that.
    are there consequences to six max clients running at once, specifically about farming or boss map holding?

    last few patches, gms buckled instead of did the right thing imo. there were about a dozen practical darksight improvements that would maintain 1/1 challenge and could have helped shads instead of reverting to 50/50. these suggested improvements were around before the nerf as well

    On this, you can discuss with other people because I do agree 6 clients should be enough and I never thought it was "dangerous" or anything. I do respect your opinion. I was quoting you because you kept on insisting that the thread is unrelated with hacks/cheats when I thought it is very much related.


    If you want my opinion on it tho, here it is.

    What Matt proposed on this thread was limiting mapownership PER COMPUTER so that only one person will able to hold one mapowner at one time, which is different from limiting number of clients opened as you proposed.

    one mapowner per one computer means:
    1. Stopper farming limited to only one client
    2. Multi channel farming (ice valley, ulu1) will be gone
    3. Multi map boss hold gone

    meaning pretty much all methods of meso making for people are ruined.

    Your original idea of 3client is way too much of a restriction because it ruins all the above mentioned + other types of farming like gold teeth or helm dex, etc. It won't even allow anyone to make a guild my him/herself.
    6 clients sound fair, but again, I wish the owner cleans up the cheaters first before doing anything on legitimate player's side because it is really frustrating to see those cheaters around while I'm working my ass of towards my own goals

    This doesn't compare well. The balance in League happens with ranks/elo and weekly nerfs/buffs. Aside from that, the MC issue is not a lack of skill matter, it's a matter of how much time do you want/are you able to waste to be able to play certain content in the game.
    We're not enemies fighting each other, we shouldn't be at least. We all play a big server together, some with more time on their hands than others.
    Why must we make it such a competitive game? You see how that works out, the community becomes toxic for many of these games.



    To me it seems fair to give AT LEAST 1 farming map if you're holding 10+ and none other are free. Especially considering there's no time limit either.
    Some very dedicated people will be farming for 4+ hours if not more on all of these channels. If even more people start to do this, how would you suggest that would turn out?
    Last week 1200+ online, you only need 2 of those 1200 to occupy the entire Stopper map. What if the other 1198 wants to do exactly this? They can't, as a small amount of people are already able to occupy all these farming/bossing maps. Obviously not that many will be farming stoppers (or looking for bosses), but even if 20-30 people of the same timezone want to actively farm, none of them can because of those 2 players.

    Many know how profitable it is, as well as other farming/bossing maps. So many make use of it, but it feels power hungry to take all merely because you can?
    And I understand people do so, because it's allowed, possible and very profitable. Which is exactly why I feel this is something to look at for balancing matters.
    Have players who don't have the same amount of time to play maple be able to enjoy content that's meant for all.

    I enjoy afk farming, you can ask my guildies, it's not relevant imo but I see it mentioned. The reasoning behind farming (whatever map) is not for you to speculate as you have no idea what people may be feeling/thinking.
    Assuming this means all or nothing to you (''just go other maps'') is also a very black and white way of thinking.

    Make the game enjoyable for everyone, not just those who put alarms on their phones for boss timers and those who spent millions/billions on leech and many weeks on leveling 10+ farm characters. Protecting these people tells me I should play the game in such a matter if I want to play certain content. While this is not how the game is supposed to be.
    Don't know about you guys, but I don't come to private servers to feel forced to do exactly this just to enjoy important content? I don't have weeks of 8 hour+ energy/time to reach this level of gameplay. All because these few people are too competitive to give up even 1 channel.

    Of course you should implement such a restriction, furthermore, they should all be in a single channel.
    The nostalgic MS is single char any given time to begin with, adding robotic gameplay available for profit ruins not only the game experience but also wrecks the economy. Single channel is what it should be about, all your characters are there for your main to allow you a smoother yet nostalgic experience to its finest.

    Mules cause so many problem , multiclient farming, replacing classes need in bossing , boss map conquering, selling boss vip /pq vip, those thing cost player less socializing becuz everything is replace by mules!
    1 mules is ok but more than 2 is totally bad for the games.
    Only those game with botting system allowing multiclient becuz those item(worthless) they farming with 100bots wont affect the market and it wont affect other as well becuz this is how botting game works, but mapleroyal is ppl multiclient farming with mules we only have 20 channel,those solo 1 client dun even have chance to farm.
    Remember multiclient is always for botting game but not for such 2d mmorpg games that only have 20 channel + miniboss/boss that have slow respawn timer, not everyone have the time to wait those multiclient player to go offline specialy in private server.

    Mapleroyal mining system
    V1: Pet autolooting even mobs is killed by summon unit.
    Pros: 1:EASY MONEY10/10$_$.
    2:Only need 1 hand build(alt+tab pressing resummon)
    3:You can watch movie+work from home /work at office.
    Cons: 1:Need more ram+decent processor.
    2:Every stopper/maplepop map is full.

    V2: Remove pet autolooting item killed by summon unit.
    Pros: 1:EaSy Money 8/10 $_$
    Cons: 1 :Have to manually loot.
    2: Two-handed build( Z button+summon+arrow button for looting)
    3: Watch movie/work from home/work at office.(Choose between 1)
    4:Clicky switches Blue/green(razer) not recommended.

    hey do it, the new players deserve a chance to farm maps. I literally don't know anyone that doesn't have more than one character on this server so for the new players it'll help them greatly. it's not much of a change but if it helps newer players even a bit it's worth. invest in newbies they will bring 10 of their friends to play and the server will grow. is that not the main purpose of Royals? to relive old school maplestory with new friends. not open 12 clients and farm 300m/hr at voodos while soloing horntail for drops.

    I've multi client farmed before and couldn't care less if it was removed.

    But let's be real here. This is the sort of idea that should be in place at the beginning of a new server to avoid or prolong the problems we now face. If we really want to add this change, we should really look into addng a new server world to put all these sort of changes in. Royals has been around a long time. This sort of change is something that should have been discussed 6 years ago before the problem of item value deflation became so prevalent. Making any changes now will take far to long to see a real effect, while causing a much larger drop in player morale for the foreseeable future. I'm for a change but not if it means harming the morale of the player base as a whole.

    In my opinion Royals as a whole has a lot of unhealthy game play styles that I hope are brought up in the future

    hey nobody cares about 1 mapowner per computer. give incentives to new players or you'll be stuck with old 100lb carps that are grumpy about a private server not progressing like GMS servers with no Guppies to support the future.. Royals does not have the funding like the GMS servers; yet when I need help in game Kenny is always there. when I'm done my dailies and need 30 minutes to kill before bed Becca is there with a fun event. when I want to change my in game name to "mrpotatohead". Matt responds within seconds. The admins are trying their best and for the most part all I hear from this thread is "not good enough". shame on you for thinking the admins don't know what's going on. they DO know. they not only know whats going on; they are on your map right now, invisible; listening to everyone in game; contemplating what the best solution is. whatever the admins decide on this topic it WILL be the best outcome because they took the time and effort to make this thread and read what the community has to say. you all have to understand programming an old game to have customized pixels that has no glitches is really hard to do. why do you think Nexon is multi million dollar company? they have programmers that can make me Flash jump 3 monitors down with a button

    The problem is endgame players want an auf helm that costs around 150-200b and there is no way of getting to that point within a respectable amount of time in terms of farming if multi client farming is removed from the game. Yes you can gamble and cs a couple of capes and shoes, but a lot of players that play this game a long time know consequences of gambling with cs the house always is going to win and profit. When royals released auf haven they should've reconsidered on how an auf helm could literally take years to complete. To this day I have played this game for a little over a year. Own 2 perf weapons, 52 wa cga, 24b coins and around 15-16b in assets? lets calculate the 2 perf weapons costed me 32+33b + CGA(11+17+25b) + 24+15-16 = 157b-158b in total for my whole account. If I were to make an auf helm right now, I would have to literally sell everything i have in order to possibly complete an auf helm. Prob take me another 1 yr and above to get enough funds to even attend the endgame helm.

    TLDR make endgame items more affordable by increasing droprates of endgame items or do not nerf multiclient farming thats just my thoughts.

    Also the stopper maps have already been nerfed and is not worth your time if you have less than 4 mages positioned in the map you will only make around 58-73 stoppers per hr on each mule. Which is around 200-250 stoppers per hr not ideal when stoppers are around 350k each total to 70m per hr. You can get more out of maple pops that drop FREQUENTLY and they are relatively the same price 300-350k per pop. They drop almost 2x MORE than stopper map i got around 100-120 per/hr on my bowmaster which is more than 2x better than Stopper map.

    Most people I see while I was regularly farming stoppers were during Asia timezone literally almost every stopper map was occupied. When it got to North American timezone, there was almost no one at the map for farming.

    Single channel only! All multi clients should change channel together and always be bound together (channel wise). If not possible limit the max multi clients to 3 or something.
    Issue mitigation is a good start
