Hello all, I was thinking about the idea of getting additional HP through questing. The idea is as follows: Each class gains a different amount of HP per quest completion; For example Mages gain +1HP per quest, Warriors and Buccaneers +5HP and all the other classes +2 HP (Somewhat resembles the ratio of HP gained using AP resets for each class). In order to approximate how much HP each class can potentially gain from this change we can take the amount of quests needed in order to get the Quest Virtuoso medal, which is 1000, as the approximate number of quests available (I'm sure there are more). Thus through questing the approximate total HP gain possible for each class is: - Mages: +1000 HP - Warriors and Buccaneers: +5000 HP - Other Classes: +2000 HP Mages can also not be included just like they are excluded from the "Water from the Spring of Youth" HP quest. By implementing this idea we can reduce even further the need of HP washing and add additional incentive to questing in general. Additional points: - This should be applied to non-repeatable quests only for obvious reasons. - Need additional thought of how to make this compatible with Reul's HP quest. I'd like to hear your thoughts about this
Wouldn't that idea decrease the value of monster cards collector medals? Legendary Collector gives 1k hp and 3 watt, while Quest Virtuoso gives 300 hp and +7 all stats (which for non-mages is around 1.5~watt or so from the main stat I believe, + extra secondary stats). Your idea would therefore make Quest Virtuoso medal in reality give 1300/2300/5300 hp and +7 all stats, when you consider medal stats + hp gain from 1k quests, which seems way too powerful. Of course this idea would also enable you to get 1000/2000/5000 hp from quests AND use another medal (like Legendary Collector) if one wishes. In my view if this idea is to be implemented then the Quest Specialist/Quest Virtuoso medals should be nerfed to account for the insane amount of HP that you would have gained through quests, or other medals should be buffed to create an incentive to get them when someone already has Quest Specialist/Quest Virtuoso medals.
Of course the HP gain per quest can be tweaked and lowered if necessary. Bear in mind that not so many players have the time or will to actually complete 1000 quests (I think daily Reul's quest might be even more efficient for some) and the average player probably does 100-200 quests in total, so the average HP gain would be way less than the potential maximum, but even 100-200 quests could help players further avoid HP washing their characters.
I like it, but would just change it to 1 or 2 hp per quest across the board for all classes. Maybe 1hp for lvl 1-70 quests then 2 hp for 70+ quests
This idea has been floated around before. However, I am against HP gain being directly tied to quest count. Instead, as suggested before (I don't know if I can find a source quickly) HP gain can be implemented for certain questlines. For example, many areas have lengthy quest series which lead up to eventually clearing the area boss(es) for that area. In addition, you can tack it on to something like the Zakum prequests, Neo Tokyo quests, ToT, etc. I believe this is the way to implement HP gain through quests. I think @Damiian has made some great points, though, so I am a bit reserved to begin with.
I am really digging your idea actually, and since there are actually a lot of quests regarding hunting mini-bosses and bosses it could be a good idea to introduce HP gain through these specific questlines. I'll try to find all the quests regarding bosses in royals and try to come up with a more solid idea.
