So few patches ago, it was possible to enter the PIC in-game with the keyboard and as someone who has a a pretty long PIC it was such a nice QoL change, but unfortunately it didn't last long and that was removed from the game, and so I've been wondering if it would be made possible to enter the PIC (and maybe PIN too) with the keyboard.
My guess is that it's because of security reasons. It's much more secure to only allow mouse input with the PIC numbers changing position every time then allowing keyboard input. You'd have to write an algorithm to recognize the number's position on the screen which is much more complex. It's easy for a hacker to write a script (macro/bot) to brute force your PIC by just going over all common combinations with keyboard input. The same reason why secure captcha's these days have puzzles that can only be completed with the mouse, it increases complexity.
Exactly. Therefore we have no plans to change it. You can however disable your PIC via our Control Panel, which I do NOT recommend tho. /Closing this
I confirm with Zancks! It is a good idea, it must be recognized, but it is a double-edged sword, it can ensure ease of entry, it is obvious, but it is dangerous in itself since it also facilitates your access to hackers, so I personally prefer to keep it as it is. !
