Hi GMs, I would like to report a possible bug which appeared since last update. The issue occurs when I am browsing the forum with Mapleroyals running in the background. At first everything is normal, but after few seconds the browser begins to be extremely laggy. I have tested this with several browser applications (Chrome, Firefox and Edge) and all of them came across the same issues. I am running on a Core i7-10750H CPU and a GeForece GTX1650Ti Max-Q graphics card in 2560*1440 resolution. The CPU usage is normal (at around 10%) when this issue occurs, however the usage of GPU goes high up to 95%. My graphics card may not be a high-end one but I think it is far enough to undertake this 18-year-old game. Moreover, I have tested my PC with other games and everything is fine. Something must be wrong with the new Mapleroyals client. If you need any further information, please contact me. Thanks!
When you say running in the background, do you mean with the client minimized or just windowed in the background? I have heard that minimizing can cause some problems.
Hi Matt, either minimized or windowed client can cause this issue. BTW, my PC is running on Windows 10 LTSC 2021 which is equivalent to Windows 10 version 21H2.
I'm using the IMG client. I will try the WZ client later today and see if this issue were still there.
As that error code usually means outdated game files (or corrupted game files), have you confirmed installation of game files with the right date? Edit: went to install both WZ and IMG to check out the GPU usage, it's about 30~40% But easily 50% or higher when both are minimized, freezing my laptop
Yes, it is a freshly downloaded WZ client. I am using an external monitor connected to my laptop while the built-in laptop monitor is turned off. I remember the WZ client cannot run in this mode since last few updates (this seems to be another bug), this is also why I am using the IMG client as my first option. Do you mean you have encountered the same issue as me? My case is a little bit weird because I can run smoothly with four Mapleroyals clients, however it becomes laggy when I opened only one Mapleroyals client + 1 Chrome webpage. I have tried to turn off the Hardware Acceleration funtion in Chrome browser but it does seem to work.
My issue is similar outcome (high GPU usage) but different situation I am able to run 1 Royals client with 1 browser (FireFox), but if I run 3 or 4 clients, the high GPU usage will start to lag my PC so I usually only use 1 or 2 clients the most
I am experiencing the same issue four times since the last update. I am using WZ files. Multiple client opened and suddenly 1 of the client spiked the GPU usage (most of the time hit 95% and above) along with not responding status. I can resolve it by quickly end task the client that is having high GPU usage. However, if i just let it spike around 10 min. the client just hang and completely not able to end task using task manager. When i try to end task, it says denied. I have to reboot the computer in order to get rid of the not responding client. Unfortunately, I didn't keep any record of the issue. I will try if i encounter again. It happens again today even using IMG file. However, i noticed that only when i open multiple client. It is fine when only 1 client running.
