Returning player from way back, trying out all the stuff thats been added since, having a lot of fun. I feel that Ellin PQ is a bit dry because the rewards are basically fixed; same reward & exp every single time w/ that tiny tiny tiny chance of Ellin Crystal. The trade-in rewards are great, but its just a 20 round grind for that etc. I've done ~10 rounds and I'm pretty sick of it already for this reason. I sort of find Dojo dull for this same reason, but at least theres some variance in how far a party gets for however many points. I think some sort of RNG'd rewards out of PQ's make the repetitiveness a lot more enjoyable, keeps it interesting (and ACTIVE). Most other PQ's have a wide variety of RNG rewards in various stages that spice it up, I don't think adding more RNG rewards to this PQ would make it OP or anything. If any boss or mob had fixed rewards, it would be very boring run/grind there, same goes for PQs. I don't have any exact ideas about how or in what way to implement this, but I think inspiration could be drawn from all other PQs in the game.
I agree, I'm at 8 fragments and generally PQ a lot, but have zero motivation to continue. It feels like an empty grindy potion burn, but you can't even get any excitement from rare or godly drops. Everyone (except pirates) being uniformly turned into the same hideous NPCs doesn't help either, but I guess this has to stay for story reasons.
100% adds to the issue. Also 4 thiefs in the party i can't tell what the heck im doing on my shad at the boss
I do think EPQ can be a bit dry, however I'm not gonna comment on the EXP it gives because it seems to be pretty decent between levels 110-135. Let's think of more specific suggestions to make it less dry. I'll start; add a chance of fragments or other rewards in the boxes you have to break to get the crystal in the stage before boss. Agreed that the exp is fine as a "constant reward", can clear the PQ in 10 min for ~5% on my lvl 142, that seems reasonable. I'll check that out thanks!
I agree but I'm going to broaden this issue to all PQs. Can PQs in general be revamped so that there is some RNG-component that gives more incentives to participate in them? Literally the only, only reason why people run some PQs like ludi PQ, orbis PQ, Romeo & Juliet are for pure nostalgic reasons. The other PQs that have some worth to doing give decent, constant EXPs (KPQ, mu-lung, EPQ), but get extremely dull as they have no RNG component that excites players. If anyone has studied psychology slightly or you reflect back on what makes you excited to do things - its the RNG component of the possibility of a reward, even if small. That's why people gamble, that's why people get excited to chaos scroll. Literally just add some worthwhile RNG component (as simple as a short chance to get an onyx apple) to these PQs and it will increase their playrate, excitement, player satisfaction to playing this game. It's really not that hard.
