As you may have noticed, people aren't levelling very quick at the moment, therefor I suggest a 2x EXP for a weekend. I'm pretty sure this would help a lot of people get out of the boring levels and maybe play harder once they get a little stronger.
Yeah but people are not supposed to be levelling very quick... It's 4x exp after all. And I really just don't like the idea of events that increase the EXP rate. If there ever was an event it would be either 1.25x or 1.5x. Also remember that is just coming up to 2 weeks since the wipe. The rankings are pretty much how I would have expected after this long, which is good. Maybe if people are not levelling very fast or getting bored they could do things like get married and try AmoriaPQ. There's also OrbisPQ which should be working...
Quality not quantity. I repeat it over and over again. I would much rather have 1 quality player that gives back to the community, has fun participating in FM and events over 10 players who are there to do nothing but grind and try to be #1 on the server.
and right now we have neither to be honest. I don't entirely agree with a 2x event, but something has to be done.
We don't really have quality or quantity lol. Also, seeing as a server's primary aspect that it is judged upon is its popularity, I would argue that quantity is equally important. Who cares whether or not you have a quality community that will encourage people to stay if you can't get them to join in the first place. I don't know about an exp boost, but we need something in order to jumpstart participation on the server because not only is it down from pre-wipe but it is STILL slowly decreasing.
I think we have something in the works for that, Dav...I'll see if I can get it sped up a bit. Also: Your sig could use an update? lol
From what I've seen, the sever is growing since the wipe. There used to be 30-50 online at peak times and now it is 50-70... I would understand if the number was going down, but it's not.
Actually the 100+ that people are quoting may have been the case a month ago, but toward the end of last month, we were seeing a marked drop in active players. I think it dropped down to 50-70 before the reset happened. So considering that we knew we would lose some players due to the changes in the server's rates, I think we are doing very well only 2 weeks out having 50+ people online.
But we're not. An interesting experiment would be if for one month, you took note of how many players were online at the exact same time every day and plot the results. I'm not saying what the outcome would be as I don't know either. But I think, many would be surprised on what the outcome would be.
Saying we had 50-70 online at peak times pre-wipe is not only false; the way you come to that conclusion does nothing positive for your credibility. The server was down for about 3 days; this, obviously, greatly reduced the interest in playing right afterwards. In addition, around the same time rumours about a wipe or/and a change of version started circulating. As a result, people were placed in a sort of limbo - why play if what you're doing right now is going to be deleted anyway? So, yes, during the last week of September the amount of players online at peak times were lower than usual; but this drop was not primarily caused by a decreased interest/popularity of the server. As I don't really play I have no idea whether or not the server is recovering right now, so I'm not going to discuss that aspect.
Not to mention the donations - we're halfway through October and £35 has been donated. July/August/September all ended up at about £130 on average I think? Obviously, the month isn't over yet so things may change. I'm not saying the server is doomed or anything; I'm just pointing out that the wipe has not so far been the amazing success that some, especially (some) GMs, seem to think. (But since quality > quantity, I suppose £10 > £100)
You can't really compare pre-wipe to after wipe that just make no sense. Ofc you will more people pre-wipe because server been around longer and most people playing anf ofc after wipe there be people who quit coz they don't like the new server or w/e. What you need to look at is players on line from after wipe to now or for a month since its like 2 weeks so its too short to tell.
Well I am, and it was growing before. That's not the case now. PS. Where's the "delete thread" button?
