I miss the good ol days where I used put my items on basil and either let people auction or buy it. Good times.
So my questions are the following:
    • Would people use something like this rather than posting on the forums or Discord server?
    • Is it destructive to the economy? It wouldn't kill off stores or owls but it may make a dent?
    • Is it worth the time to develop this? I wouldn't use weeks/months of development time for 10 people to use it :admincry:
It would be nice for Mapleroyals to have something other servers dont :admindab:
This is more of a discovery interview of whether this idea is viable or not. I wouldn't view this as an official product (yet? idk) but more fan made like Basilmarket.

P.S. Idk why but the admin emojis are so funny to use ~f2

    • Would people use something like this rather than posting on the forums or Discord server?
      • There are probably players used to the in-game or forum trading, but I don't think they will dislike this idea
    • Is it destructive to the economy? It wouldn't kill off stores or owls but it may make a dent?
      • No, as there are still many players who prefer to use in-game trading over forums/website
    • Is it worth the time to develop this? I wouldn't use weeks/months of development time for 10 people to use it
      • That really depends on the functions required for the website to work, as well as the required server hosting fees
Additional notes: security would also be a huge concern for the said website as it likely won't be part of Royals website/forum, but a website by itself, which would also require its own Logins for players to identify themselves before placing bids

Personally, I do like the idea of a dedicated trading/auction website, but the current options of in-game + forums + Discord trading should be sufficient for the Royals player base, my concern would be how to keep the website going, especially for the hosting fees

I'd rather they focus their time on getting a new Library out than a auction system. The thing you have to remember is that Basilmarket had way more traffic due to it taking advantage of the official population of gMS coming to the site for guides/price checks. (which is unlike the current older private scene).

I wasn't thinking of having a forums added to the scope baucse we already have this forum. :p

    • The only functions I was thinking of are auth, adding/removing items to bid, and adding/canceling? bids. I'm trying to remember if I forgot anything else but it would definitely be a simpler version of Basilmarket.
    • Login could be social-login based. i.e Sign with Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. No username/passwords needed
    • Making a library does sound like a good idea...
    • There's no public api for this so I can't do anything about it \shrugs/

I agree with the comments made already. We don't have a massive population like gms did. Creating another medium for trading would probably make it very annoying to go back and forth.
