Nexon plans to shut down MapleRoyals

There has been a talk that Nexon is planning to shut down private servers. Well my friend works in Nexon so that's what he told me.

Not gonna lie, i hope it does. I told my friend to bring that to the table more often. Sick and tired of amateur staff members here. I wonder how many will actually be butt hurt once Royals is gone lmao

My friend does work for Nexon and it's been a talk for a long time. ExtaliaMS and few other servers was also shut down not long ago and that's what's gonna happen to Royals too.

They do have the resources. They have done this in the past too. My friend told me the process is slow but it's there. Nexon did delete Royals videos in youtube after all like a year ago or so?

 

That was done by Korean law firm "DAZIUNDA" by the request of Nexon Korea. Which was mainly done due to private servers in Korea making profits.

Only reason Extalia got shutdown was because it was directly impacting GMS sales as it was a clone of GMS. The shot call to shutdown Extalia likely came from Nexon HQ in Korea cause they saw the abnormal behavior in GMS profit.

Mapleroyals is not a competition to GMS in both its population and game nature (its not a substitute to GMS; just because people quit Royals doesn't mean they are going to play GMS).

I work at NEXON and we have no intentions to shut down Royals. We think it's a far better alternative to our Maple, and matter of fact we are sabotaging Official maple since after BB. That's why it totally sucks.

Nexon has more concerns - servers that allow pay2win with the donation system are way more difficult to sustain. Royals is not making money from clients they stole from nexon, all the money from donations goes to server expenses. This version is also very outdated so the up to date private servers will always be a priority.

Imagine being able to convince 10 close classmates to make characters on royals to vote and transfer you the APR's with absolutely 0 incentive? A man like that could have friends anywhere.
