Haven't been active at all but I'd guess there's either an increased supply, decreased demand or a combination of both. One of the reasons behind the decreased supply I think might be the banning of major vote abusers/RWT'ers lately. Also player base seemed to have gone down. They used to, but at the moment I wouldn't want to be holding an asset that's losing value as a mean to tax evade.
I think they were sitting at 500m for no reason other than ppl kinda agreeing to have them as 500m meso chips for so long. So ppl would buy them as soon as they were gach'd just to store their mesos, even if they didn't actually need ws/cs for use. As in, if you wanted to buy a CS to use on your item, you needed to compete with everyone else who wanted that CS to just use it as a meso voucher. So as soon as they broke below 499m, they were no longer 500m vouchers, so they lost what had become their primary use. Prices now probably reflect the actual supply & demand more accurately? As for the value of the actual use of the item. Personally I'm kinda glad its dropping, since at 500m its hardly worth it to CS items if you're not really rich. EDIT: also wanna mention that gets left out in a lot of maple economy discussions, this community is dope but its also very small, so small that I dont think the market behaves the same way an MMO with tens of thousands of players would
Player base inconsistent/declining at the moment. Outside of high end gears, entire market is depreciating due to lack of player base/new players. Apples, clean equips, Heartstoppers, scrolled equips that aren’t perfect: For the most part are all going down. Its only natural due to this , decreased demand cs/ws drop as well. There is also probably a decent sized playerbase that only votes to gatcha, only adding more to the cs/ws despite not actively playing and spending mesos. The real issue is end game gears are not correlating with ws/cs dropping. They’re too much of a scarcity for sellers to drop, there’s limited competition to sell a 18 WA FS, or a perfect dragon slash claw, etc.
