I think the worst aspect of this rule is that it could be weaponized to get legit players banned.
I would like staff to reserve the right to handle those shady trades case by case, confiscating items and issuing perma bans in extreme cases too, but I don't think this rule is the way.

Make no mistake, there's a ton of endgame players who know how to play the "grey area" card.
In a lot of cases, ppl are aware when they're trading with shady/rwting players for major profits, but choose to do it regardless.

My problem with this rule is that it can mix up legit players with those who make shady deals on purpose, and it's too easy to weaponize in the right hands.

I understand where this rule comes from and the good intentions staff has with this, it also shows that they acknowledge the problem that RWT is and are looking at ways to combat it.

But this is not the solution, it's overly convoluted and anything but user friendly. It will cause a lot of confusion as well as overly cautious users.
The changes should be happening within the staff team and not fall on the burden of the user.
There's a lot that can be done to properly combat RWT and while you might not see immediate results and the workload at first is going to be huge but the more it becomes under control the easier it will end up being to keep things more or less in check.

I hope for the users sake that this rule will be reconsidered and instead staff takes it upon themselves to come up with a proper plan on how to tackle the current constant influx of RWT. These changes should be up for the Staff's discretion but if I were to suggest some things it would include things such as improving logs and queries for a better quick overview when investigating players, find someone in staff that is willing to take lead on investigations and has access to the logs who can then further delegate tasks to other staff members. Set up a system that includes weekly or bi-weekly server wide checks on certain matters that often go together with RWT, from there on it will be easier to filter out those that are suspicious and warrant an investigation.

I personally never played royals but I am speaking from my own experience on combating RWT and I hope that my advice with good intentions will be received by the Staff team.

What a mess, legit players need to file everything they do and play on their toes, just so they don't become RWTers themselves? This sucks all the fun out of the game for people who just want to have fun and progress... Actually makes making progress scary. To be honest I'm not going to bother doing everything asked in this thread. I don't have log access, which is something you check when someone gets flagged as a RWT, also, I can't monitor other players and I shouldn't be, because I'm not a GM and don't have the tools to do such things. Big mess man.

I am afraid this change might hurt the filthy casuals like me despite the good intentions behind it.

The average human being can remember 7 items (+/- 2) and the list has 8 items. I have read the first post once and I can barely recall the last few points. The hassle to go through every single point might result in the other party declining for being too "fussy". If I had found a good deal, I want to do the trade asap, the profit margin could be as little as 500m or 1b. If I had started asking so many questions, wouldn't the other person prefer to trade other eager buyers or even doubt if he/she should really sell me?

I think 1B limit should be raised and the due diligence requirements should be reduced or made concise. Personally, I think it would be better if a new clause was added such that player knowingly and repeatedly made suspicious trades with suspicious characters and/or made a single extremely high-valued suspicious trade that had garnered him/her a significant amount of mesos and/or advantage. The act of knowing and repeatedly is important in proving to the community said person had malicious/unfair intentions, however, there would always be cases of single suspicious trades that require the player to practice his/her due diligence as written in the first post.

A lot of the work (and risk) is being pushed onto the player which I don't think is fair and many people offered some good discussion points already.

Since the players are now taking some of the workload off the staff and assuming this rule is going to be implemented, can we also get some written commitment from staff that ban appeals requiring an admin will be processed more quickly? For example, staff commits to responding to an appeal within 3 days. Some of those appeals take weeks to months to resolve and in some cases, the player had to bump the appeal to make sure they were not forgotten.

Personally, I wouldn't mind being banned as a false positive as a rare case as long as I know I can "trust" the system where I will be unbanned in a timely manner and have my equipment returned. But weeks to months? I'd be less motivated to return and move on to something else.

Sorry but ask players to submit official identification? Then see player count (new and old) disappear...

    Stupid rule.
you expect us to be detectives ?
can you imagine someone selling 3 cs /ws and u asking in the middle of the trade
    "who's ur main?"
    "who's ur forum account ?"
    "send me msg on forum"
    "come from the main account"
"talk to me in discord and so on and its just for 3 cs or other 1b+ item?" SMH
why not make everyone GM and let us get access to the database if so?
it will make the so called investigation much easier..
please with all respect cancel this nonesense and try as a staff to find other methods to fight the RWTers

I have a question. This to me sounds like it will involve staff / gms ALOT more than necessary.
How exactly is one to get ahold of a GM/Staff?

If I as a fairly new player wish to conduct a trade and I have no idea who the player is and I wish to get some info or have a GM present how do we go on about this? Make a fourm post and wait a few days / hours?
It will change the whole concept of trading.

This as a whole looks to me as if we were implementing IRS to Maplestory.

While I'm happy with your efforts for healthy economy for us players, this rule is practically impossible to follow.

You can't expect me or anyone else to do that kind of investigation on a sole good purchase. If i have the opportunity to get an item at half price, heck i will buy it, it's not the player duty to check what you ask for. For numerous purchases it's another story tho.

And here is the kind of attitude that made this rule necessary.

Attitude? It's a game. They're implementing real life economics to ironically adress RWT. I play this once or twice a year to spend all my nx i collect voting daily, i shouldn't have to deal with this kind of bullshit.

How do you know the item is half priced or to good without research/investigstion of some sort?
What if there is event or change you dont know about that makes that item worth less or it can be made for less ?
Don't you or other question why that person is selling for that cheap while other selling it for more or how you can make it and sell cheap like that aswell ?

Maybe the forum id and personal info is to much to ask for yea since most keep on mules for space/sell but am sure most have atleast 1question of how the item is made before they spend their hard earned meso for something thats to good to be true

Congrats on Djokovic's win yesterday. As i said before, such sales are opportunities as long as it's not abused, in my personal case, I didn't even know how much is an APR since I only play once or twice a year. It's NOT the players prerogative to ask such questions and make investigations!

and what do you expect? buying low is part of the game.
you can't price tag all the items. the price is set considering supply and demand.
this aint reboot and last time I check this version is meant to be played with a freemarket. by that logic, why not disable trade function between players and why not create some npc that sells you all the scrolled&available items in the game?

I've already seen the rule take effect on items that mostly hold their price. A user was selling their MW20 for 1.8b as they couldn't find a buyer at 1.9b, and they feared the price would fall even faster if they couldn't find a buyer soon. We went through the steps and validations, but ultimately the sale was cancelled and they opted to try and sell in the shop at a standard 2b price out of fear for being labeled as RWT.

I'm not even sure if this will really impact users who consistently RWT or do suspicious trades, as neither would report or follow this rule in any meaningful way. Neither myself nor the seller had any direct way of contacting staff quickly to find a resolution. I imagine this exact scenario will probably play out dozens of times each day, where sellers and buyers cannot come to an agreement for fear of false RWTing accusations if the price is too low or too high compared to what could previously be found on the forums.

It's clear that the intention of the rule it to just use common sense when trading, but there is too much uncertainty on where to draw this line and give punishment to the players. This rule could be used to negatively impact new players and merchers alike, as a new player may sell their successful gacha run with 3 WS 10% cheaper than the current market price as they want to quickly liquidate into mesos. It will be increasingly difficult for those new players as well to sell a lucky CS roll or a lucky gacha run, as they wouldn't even have any way to validate the legitimacy. I understand wanting to combat the ever prevalent RWT issue, but this rule is definitely not the right approach.
